RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West A few quick shots of the shady boy awning

I wouldn't have gotten the stock brackets only because I liked the 1" standoffs that I ended up using. And so didn't use it. Originally, I thought I might try and make brackets so that the awning would come off. I thought I might make an auto roof rack bracket and could use the awning on the...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West A few quick shots of the shady boy awning

DJ, The Shady Boy definitely looks like it would work on the back mounted to a rear rack. It is much wider (10’) than the rear of the camper so you would have quite a bit of overhang on the sides. Plus it would be way up in the air mounted to the rack. You would probably want to hold down the...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Weston Pass and Cottonwood Pass, CO.

Then headed over Cottonwood Pass into Taylor Park. We ended up camping along Texas Creek. It rained and we sure were happy to have the new awning to cook under ;)

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Weston Pass and Cottonwood Pass, CO.

We headed out for a short trip over to Taylor Park but took a side trip over Weston Pass on the way, just ‘cause we hadn’t been there before. Nice pass with lots of potential camp sites. This area is just north of the Buffalo Peaks Wilderness out of the South Park of Colorado.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West 36 Hours In L.A.

Boy, I feel for you Jay. Last year when we were out in California with a camping trailer, the longest day was the drive from La Jolla up to Santa Barbara through LA :( . Of course, I let my wife, June, drive ;) she's a better driver than me anyway  (hope she doesn't see this)

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West A few quick shots of the shady boy awning

Another Shady Boy Awning I just installed a Shady Boy awning on the FWC Ranger. I went ahead and installed it using the two mounting blocks built into the awning case. These are the only bolts used when installing the case to the stock mounting brackets so I figured I’d give it a shot. Went...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Bedrolls

My wife, June, and I have been using the Cabelas Adam and Eve zip together bags for quit some time. They are very comfortable either individually or zipped together. I'm pretty sure that on the version we got one bag is heavier than the other so you can use the appropriate one on top depending...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Shakedown cruise

Mark, Looks like a great trip. We did a similar one last summer from Denver. Grand Canyon, down to San Diego then, up to Monterrey and back through Vegas. We stayed at State Park campgrounds along the coast. We really liked the Morro Bay area. Have a wonderful trip and congratulations on...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Delivery Date 7/7/07!

Brett, So, you ordered a Bobcat??? I'm really looking forward to seeing your pics! Did they have to increase the height to fit the 22 1/2 inch bed rail height on the new Tundra? That should be a great setup.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Are there no ATC/FWC on the east coast?

Welcome to the forum! There are a couple of members on this forum from the east, they will probably chime in. I have a FWC Ranger which is a long bed small truck size. I have only slept 3 inside. For maximum sleeping capacity, you are probably looking at a shell model so you can outfit it as...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Delivery Date 7/7/07!

That is not a 2007 Tundra. I have a 2000 Tundra with a FWC Ranger. Here is a picture showing the width. The max width of the Ranger is 70 1/2 inches with the jack brackets. My Tundra max width is just a little over 80 inches. I had to put on jack extension brackets so that the jacks would...

This custom FWC Eagle was discussed a while back... And you probably saw this already but I thought this was a nice table setup. I emailed the guy and he said he fabricated the table hardware himself.

KC, It is definitely moist in the Steamboat area. It was a nice surprise, as so many campgrounds in Colorado are way overrun with people.

TT, I'm not sure Toyotas ever die. :D I've got over 115,000 miles on my Tundra and it's still going strong. Going up the passes, my wife was struggling to keep up with me in her Suburban. The Chevy has half the miles and me with the camper on the back  Toyotas just seem to age...

Steamboat Springs - Rabbit Ears Pass, Colorado The girls headed up early to Steamboat Springs for a soccer tournament this past weekend. My son and I decided to take the camper and find a place to stay out of town. We ended up staying at the Dumont Lake Campground on Rabbit Ears Pass. We had...
