I was a young camp counsellor. The camp had no TV, so it shut down for a few days so everyone could go home to watch. For some of us born in the Sputnik era, it was a Big Deal.

I spliced in silicone coated stranded wire (used often in robotics applications). Nice and flexible. Works well.

How much did you pay to rent the LO? They are fixing up two LOs here for rental. I've been wanting to go up to "my" LO on a full moon night. I'd better do that before fire season ends here.

Maybe go talk to your local district's Fire Prevention or Fire Management Officer. See if there's a lookout near an urban interface or other full-suppression area that could be staffed, but isn't because of funding issues, and volunteer. That's what I did. No, I'm not getting paid, but I do get...

I've thought about it, but I'd rather do things that don't involve dealing with a lot of people. Being a a fire lookout is more my style (although I do get a few visitors from time to time).

I've been living with hail dents on the roof. I have the old two piece textured roof and the dents don't show too badly. I just think of them as battle scars.

Another great TR. Love the wildlife images. That butterfly looks like one of the many types of Checkerspots. One question I have is whether Lighthawk's fishing license paid off. Guess I'll have to read his TR, eh?

It appears to have been a bust. Or, it is running late. Makes me feel better about being clouded and fogged out, though.

The weather doesn't look good for my neck of the woods. I should be grateful for getting some precip, though. Still, I'll get up and check the sky later tonight.
