RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Lightweight Ladders for Camper-Roof Access

The main reason I would consider carrying a tall ladder is for when there is a heavy snowfall while camped. I'd definitely want to clear off most of the snow before I lowered the top. A snow rake might be fine for a lowered top, but raised?

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Two week countdown to more daylight. ;-)

There's a bill in the New Mexico legislature to put us on DST year-round. A bill in 2013 to keep New Mexico on Standard Time year-round failed. Being retired, I don't really have a preference.

Thanks for another very enjoyable read. Sure do wish the wild Plinys would expand their range out of the Great Basin into New Mexico. We have good Pliny habitat here.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West New Outrage!

camelracer, you and I had the same thought. Maybe shoot 'em with paintballs and gum up the camera. I also have heard that drones are being used to scout and/or drive game. There are regulations being drafted to outlaw that as well.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West BF Goodrich All-Terrain T/A KO ➙➙ KO2?

Yeah - dirty snow. They have added thin "mud buster bars" to the outer edges of the tread pattern that is supposed to help loosen mud so it ejects better. It seems to help a little, although mud still collects in the interlocking treads.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West BF Goodrich All-Terrain T/A KO ➙➙ KO2?

I bought the KO2s a couple of months ago. Because they are a new product, I can't say anything about tread life yet. The ride is very much like the old KO. The sidewalls are supposed to be a little more robust, with a better transition from tread to sidewall, but I haven't tested that aspect...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Proof of Super-Advanced Aliens Manipulating Space-Time?!

I should mention that the Phys B letter does not imply there was no Big Bang - just that there was no singularity. The cosmic microwave background and Hubble Law are all still safe.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Proof of Super-Advanced Aliens Manipulating Space-Time?!

OK, I'm still trying to wrap my head around the Phys Letters B article. It's a cool idea, deriving a Friedmann equation from the quantum-trajectry-modified Raychauduri equation. The thing is, quantum trajectories are non-local, and it seems to imply having a wave function for the whole Universe...

The prefix "SDSS" in the galaxy cluster identifier means one of the bright galaxies was first identified in the project I worked on. I went to the SDSS Sky Server and put in the coordinates to look at the original image. It's not very impressive as seen by the ground-based medium-sized SDSS...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Winter Solstice 2014

Here in NM, we've had a few good storms lately, although most of the state is still in some level of persistent drought. The Sacramento Mountains are in pretty good shape, as far as precip totals go, but we get snowfall interspersed with warmer days, so the snowpack is not as deep as it could...

Asteroid 2004 BL86 will pass close to Earth tomorrow. At the closest, it will be about 3 times the Earth-Moon distance, but since it is relatively large it will be easily visible in large aperture binoculars or small telescopes. Basically, you will need to see down at least to magnitude 9.5, and...
