RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West floor plan photos

Years ago there was a fairly well known (but my mind can't remember the name, probably will when I go to bed:o ) (just came to me, Stephensons, I think) manufacturer of quality backpacking equipment; tents, back packs, etc. They used nude models to demonstrate their equipment. You could have...

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West floor plan photos

I like it. Gives a good feel for the interior. Think you should also have a wide angle pic looking in from the door. I don't know when you would have too many pics, but showing a person using the interior might be useful. This would certainly be more information and more valuable than...

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West HELP, What step combo do U use to enter & exit camper?

I've been using a heavy duty step that fits into my receiver and allows another receiver to fit into the end of it so I can leave it in place and still pull a trailer. It is heavy, about 40 lbs. Seems to work pretty well. Not at home but will post a pic if I can.

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Bumpers

Can you explain some details of bumper construction. It appears that you have a main frame and then attach "body work". Sure looks to be sturdier than stock. Thanks Here is my front bumper that I had made.

Those are some serious bumpers! Don't think I can afford them right now though. Thanks for the lead.

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Camping Cookware

Anyone using anything special for cookware in their campers? I was discussing(?) with the wife as we were packing last week the amount of space being taken up by the cookware she packed. She suggested we could use the self stacking cookware in the kitchen after she got new cookware:eek...

I've looked into putting on tougher bumpers on my Tundra. Pystoy, what is the bumper (awning thread) on your truck? Anyone else with aftermarket bumpers?

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West simple air dam idea

Thanks for the pics, nice elegant solution. The gap on my 04 Tundra DC with a Hawk on is 4" in the middle growing to 5 1/2" as the roof tapers. I purchased one of those aero wings off Craigslist anticipating using it on the Tundra. It isn't as wide as the truck and I would have to construct...

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Awnings

Even though I can't make it this trip thing sounds really interesting and I would like to. However, this thread was about awnings. If someone were to search for the type of information we're now talking about they might not find it. I suggest we start a new thread about traveling to Baja, or...

Where did you fine the 3M clear protector sheeting? I've been unable to find it retail. Thanks I used the 3M clear proctor sheeting that you use for front hoods etc. and put it on the under side of the camper extension. My Ranger extends past the cab of the truck. I remounted the deflector on...

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Anything you'd do different?

The guy is right. We've bought it for use on another bed. It is very comfortable over something else soft, but needs to be much thicker (and really heavy) if used by itself. Something thinner that seems to work pretty good is the Froli sleep system. We will be using it for the wife over the...

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Anything you'd do different?

If I had the 4" bed my wife would be happier! Sounds like you have the standard bed. The extended bed is a full 48" out over the cab. The one you have is probably 32" out over the cab with a 32" pull out on the inside. Even if you had the 48" bed though, it would have a 4" mattress on it and...

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Anything you'd do different?

We just bought the Hawk in August and only used it for one week. Our sleeping space is the one where you pull out the bed to make the bigger bed (does this have a name). I think I would have been happier with the smaller, but stationary bed. There would be more room in the main compartment when...

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West New Truck

I'm losing about 4 to 5 mpg on my 04 Tundra Double Cab with my Hawk on. I wanted a diesel, but the wife really had a problem with the noise and the Tundra has been a really nice truck. Thought a diesel would be worth it for just the milage, but that's when it used to be cheaper than gas. Now...

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West New Truck

Two things; Jay, you never told us what kind of milage your getting with your diesel. Inquiring minds (nosey?) would like to know? Do you think you could create storage in the platform you build? Dave

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West vents to install refridgerator

When we bought our Hawk last summer it came with the smaller frigerator. I dealer (Shawn at Go AnyWhere) suggested we use an Engle fridge instead of trying to get larger built in. Sense using the Engle, it works great, I wouldn't hesitate to just use it (or two of them) instead of the 3 way...

quote "Seriously though, we had those winds also. We travel with the camper legs and put them down at night. You can see this in the photo in my Death Valley report. RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Super Springs vs Spring Shop

I'm using Roadmaster Springs. They seem to work very well, have some adjustment (if you get the heavy duty ones, and you should) for weight, and are very easy to install. Price was less than $200.

Well, A Hi-Lift Jack off road kit, good price at $50 A hinge lock for our Engel fridge/freezer. RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West damaged canvas

A lot of things come off with WD40. I use that to take grease off my hands before using soap. Father-in-law use to keep a bucket of old engine oil in his shed, when done working on greasy farm machinery he would dip his hands in the oil and clean the grease off with it. Then just washed the oil...

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West tire mount and tool box

I have a front receiver mounted on my Tundra DC. It is a very handy item. I mostly use it for a fold up carrier where I carry things like lawn mowers and snow blowers that I can keep an eye on. I've also been thinking about using it for some type of storage box. I seen other rigs set up this...
