Thanks to all for the thoughts. Now in Watford City, ND and heading west. Talk about finding oil this is the place. More oil than the mideast.
No pictures yet to upload yet; having an issue with computer software downloading. Can't even do the blog.
Monday, 11Jul11, the departure will start. The FWC is being packed and waiting for the morning sun to rise over the swamp. Just know something will be forgotten, but their are a lot of stores on the route.
Hope to see some of the bloggers on the way and safe trips to all. Will be updating.
I did give some thought on taking my cat camping. With a little research and a talk with the vet best advise is leave it/them home. Cats like their domain and don't like the changes. Have someone look in on it/them to make sure everything is ok. Have to remember if your out in the wilds and...
Sounds like a great trip.
Will be stopping in Watson Lake sometime in late July for supplies. Coming up 37.
Everyone have a great time and enjoy the vacation.

Stan,
It looks good, but where is the stripes????? Seems like every pic I have seen, old or new, has the stripes. How does the fiberglass hold up to the load/unload? When loading/unloading I have noticed a slight buckling in the alum. I use the manual crank method and only do 2-3 turns on...
Hope you enjoyed your stay in WI, Cheese Curds in WI? That sorta makes you a CHEESE HEAD. By the way did you buy a Cheese Head cap?
Enjoy the trip and will be watching the blogs.
Tom
Thank you for all the comments.
The next issue is it the Dempster or the Dalton? Have been reading thru the blogs and they both sound interesting and really no preference as to which one is better. Or with time on my side maybe both, and forget about the gas.
Like Overland Hadley says, may...
Question to all that have been to Alaska.
Is their a point to say that it is too expensive to drive to Alaska or is this a dumb question?
I'm not talking the direct route but routes that will be covering the northern US, British Columbia, Alberta, YT and NT. Leaving out of Wisconsin and...
We're going to head up to the Soo and down. Did the Chicago route in the fall and want to do it the 'less developed' way this time (didn't really enjoy southern Michigan via the Sarnia,ON crossing). Thanks for the tips too.
Going via Soo is going to be less developed thats for sure. If you...
Taking your time. By chance are you going thru Sault St Marie or taking the southern route thru Chicago. Good places to see along I90, Badlands, Black Hills(Sturges) Bighorn just to mention a few. You might check out the web sites for The US National Forests and Grass Lands. They do have...
Installed another Fantastic fan above the sink area, rigged up additional back up lights on the Hawk and have been looking over the web for the trip to AK.
Anybody have any ideas on camping in BC, AB, NT, YK or MB other than Provincial Parks or National Parks? Seems like it either a...
New to this site also. Shotgun, it sounds like we are in the same position. Next summer its Alaska and time is on my side. The new Hawk will be Eagle, WI. (Go Anywhere, Sean & Diana Dempsey) early June. It is hard finding a used FWC especially in the upper mid west. Looking forward to a...
