RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Camco Wave 3 Catalytic Heater

Lightly used wave 3 with legs and dust cover. Installed a forced air furnace and no longer need this. Great unit. 175.00. I'm in Bellingham wash but could arrange delivery within reasonable radius. Thanks!

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West New batwing awning

Alu-cab makes a sweet wrap around awning called the shadow. Similar to the one fwc is installing. Haven't seen one on a fwc yet but worth checking out

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Riser Construction - 2005 Grandby

I have a 2005 Grandby Shell that has a built-in factory riser between the truck bed and the interior floor of the camper. Its probably about three inches high and appears to be aluminum sandwiched between the plywood. Does anyone know how this is constructed? I want to add a propex furnace and...

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Factory rear awning

Hmmm...if it's full width on the eagle I'm guessing the fabric size is the same as the photos I've seen on a Grandby/hawk have 5 or 6 inches on each side. The eagle is 69 inches wide while a Grandby is 80. The attachment points are probably different though.

Anyone have the wfc rear awning and willing to give me the dimensions? I'm going to try and fab my own for my Grandby. Thanks!

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Upsizing

Hello fellow Bellinghamster. I run a 2005 Grandby shell on a 1997 F150 supercab short box. Works well for us. I think you will have the most luck finding a Grandby than any other used FWC in the NW. In fact, there was one on Seattle craigslist just last week I believe. Like Pods, I have a...

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Water Tank Vent Question

I have a feeling I'm going to be confronting the same issue of not wanting to cut the side of the camper for a fill port/vent hose. I was wondering why you couldn't just have the vent line just stay inside the camper some place where it will stay clean and is obviously higher than the tank so...

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Water Tank Vent Question

Ive decided at this point to go with the fill port inside the camper directly to the tank thus avoiding the need to cut a hole through the side. I figure if that gets old, I can always add the external fill. Im thinking of running the 3/8 vent line through the exterior wall of the floor pack...

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West New roof lifting struts installed on 2009 Hawk

Thinking about adding struts to my Grandby Shell build as I will be putting sea kayaks and/or a canoe on the racks. I also want to fabricate a rear awning similar to the one now offered by FWC. In reading through the wealth of information on this site regarding exterior installation of the...

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Water Tank Vent Question

Finally getting around to installing a water tank in my Grandby Shell build. Not sure were to route the vent line for the tank? Can anyone tell me how FWC does it or have any ideas. Thanks. Does it vent outside the camper through some sort of fitting?

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Mounting Wave 3 in Hawk

I use the legs so I can move the Wave around depending on the situation. Keeps the unit away from kids and dogs and really does not take much extra time to set up. I saw a post here where someone mounted the wave on the rear lift panel via a piece of wire. Seems like a good location too.

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West What rack should I have installed?

I would personally go with the aftermarket rack system. My Grandby has the factory rack and its pretty bent up from the previous owner loading and unloading a small boat. It might be decent for mounting a solar panel but it does not have the clearance necessary to use yakima/thule attachments...

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Water tank in your FWC?

To keep it simple in my Grandby shell build, I am installing a 9 gallon tank and a foot pump to the sink. There are several manufacturers of tanks in different sizes and configurations. Mine hugs the rear wall of the camper well and is reasonable in size as to not take up as much space. Of...

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Screen Door

Thanks guys. Exactly what I needed to know. Bummer you can't just add the screen door. My existing door is in good shape so I hate to shell out the $400. I will have to think about it.

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Screen Door

Anyone ever added a screen door to their FWC? I imagine one could find one from the manufacturer or FWC and add it. Wondering if this is feasible or difficult. Of course, custom ideas are always welcome. Thanks.

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Propane System for Grandby Shell

Any progress NWCamper? I'm curious as to how you did/will mount the exterior valve. My heater died, so I yanked it -gaining alot of extra space as well as shaving a considerable amount of weight. I plan to use that propane line as an exterior access point. I'm going to use a quick connect...

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Propane System for Grandby Shell

It would essentially be the same when sealed properly. Why? Better space efficiency, lighter, cheaper, and I dont have to cut a giant hole in the camper. I live in a wet climate and the camper is stored outdoors. I want to keep the camper exterior as seamless as possible.

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Propane System for Grandby Shell

Thanks for the suggestions. Any thoughts on specific regulators, tees, valves etc. or sources? I will keep exploring the tank location. If I go internal rest assured the box will be sealed as good or better than anything from the factory.

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Propane System for Grandby Shell

I appreciate the internal/external debate but I dont think the external option is going to work for me even if it might ultimately be the safest bet. My Grandby is on a short box and probably always will be so my build focuses on putting all of the weight as far forward as possible. I really...

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Propane System for Grandby Shell

Thanks Barko. I'll look into the regulator and valve setup. Not sure what I will do for the tank location. Putting it in the bed is a good thought but honestly I dont see how it would be much different than where I planned on putting it. Propane is heavy and would exit the camper through the...

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Propane System for Grandby Shell

Currently building out my Grandby Shell. I know virtually nothing regarding propane systems but here is what I am planning to do: 10# bulk tank stored inside the camper. It will be housed in a bench/cabinet in the forward/passenger corner on the floor. It could be vented to the truck bed in...

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Lagun Cockpit Table

So other than the dealers of the $300 Lagun pedestal, is there anyone out there who can vouch for the low quality of the $75 knock off? I'm a firm believer in getting what you pay for; however this items seems easy to duplicate at a much lower cost. Anyone tried the "Lagun-style" or the...
