RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Front Dinette or Side Dinette?

I have actually owned two new four wheel campers in the last six years. The first I ordered was a side dinette. I chose it because I liked looking out the window and that is something that doesn’t really work in the front dinette. Ultimately however I had a few issues. The seat is narrow and I...

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Ordering a Hawk 1-28-17 Do's Don'ts?

I have had two hawks in the last 4 years. A 2013 and now a 2016 hawk. I travel alone but I prefer the front dinette I got in the new hawk. It has more room for dinner a book and a computer and I find the seat more comfortable. I did not get the toilet (I don't want that where I sleep) and so...

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West AT Fuel Can Holder installation

It may not be seen in the photo and I forgot to mention but they installed a little spacer to move it out a smidgen from the camper. It is the almost black spacer between the bracket and the can holder. It appears to be some composite material. Sent from my iPad using Wander The West

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West AT Fuel Can Holder installation

This is how four wheel campers attached the AT holder to my hawk. Sent from my iPad using Wander The West

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Truck woes

I have a 2016 f150 with the 5 ltr v8 and I love it. If I don't drive above 65 I get 16 miles per gallon with the camper on. Sent from my iPad using Wander The West

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West 2016 Hawk camper with a twist

I packed the camper for my trip to New Mexico and for the first time I've had more than enough room for everything. The front dinette no toilet option added lots of storage already but the under bed storage was great for all my cloths and a few other things. So far I'm very happy with the...

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West 2016 Hawk camper with a twist

The interior height is taller...the soft pop up is the same size. I'm short 5'7" and the light when reaching over the counter is a reach for me now because of the higher inside height. Sent from my iPad using Wander The West

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West 2016 Hawk camper with a twist

I thought it was worth the price for me considering I will have the camper for potentially 20 years and almost every night at a camp site I was repeatedly going in to my extended cab truck and getting something I needed that wasn't in the camper - and my truck was a mess because of the lack of...

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West 2016 Hawk camper with a twist

It doesn't have vent ducts louvers that I know of. It is the same storage as on the flat bed and I've not heard of an issue there though . Now that you brought it up I will really check on that with my test trip next week. That would also be an issue for rifle storage in the space...

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West 2016 Hawk camper with a twist

I'm sure if it ever becomes an option it would only be an option and the original nose would be available. Funny thing I noticed. I'm 5 foot 7 and because of the added height I need to get a taller stool to access the awning. Sent from my iPad using Wander The West

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West 2016 Hawk camper with a twist

It is not an option now and may never be. It really is just a test rig they made for me to try and report back. Except for the under bed storage and the extra height that creates it is exactly the same as a regular front dinette hawk. The dinette is the same size. I think it just looked...

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West 2016 Hawk camper with a twist

I was thinking of cloths in the under bed storage. It will be nice to have someplace other then a suit case in the car for them. I also like I could put stuff in there and close the top and if the camper was broke into someone would be unlikely to locate those items. I travel alone mostly so...

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West 2016 Hawk camper with a twist

Last month I sold my 2013 Hawk. Some people asked why I was selling it so quick after getting it only to buy a new one. For one when I got it it was my first camper and I wasn't sure how I would fit in camping and how I'd like it. Found out I loved it and it changed my life for the better. I...

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West How Cold Is Too Cold for a Hawk Water System?

Last December I camped in Nevada in a cold snap. It was 8 degrees and the locals commented to me it was the coldest weather in a couple years. I kept the camper heated when I slept that night. Heated the hot water heater before going to bed (but not all night) and left the cabinet door open...

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Revisiting the 1/2 ton vs. 3/4 ton question....

I have a 2013 Hawk camper with many of the options (or did until two weeks ago) and have had two Ford F150 trucks to carry it. My 2013 F150 with 5.0 engine carried it great. I did have E rated tires and ride right air bags with 25lb inflation. I did probably a 1000 miles of off road driving...

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West SOLD 2013 Four Wheel Camper Hawk Northern California 17,000

Sorry I was away and could not respond until today. Yes I use an F150 with Ride Rite airbag helper springs on the back. The truck rides perfectly with the camper on it.
