RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West WTB: Tacoma Mounting Bracket

Regular old 3" x 3/8" steel. No, it doesn't have the fatter middle portion like the new versions but it works great!!! Had it cut my own mats but again, a horse stall mat worked great.

I made mine. Bought the steel ($50 +-), had a local machine shop bend them and punch the holes ($15) and then bought a can of Herculiner ($20). They work great!!!

I have a 2012 which between 2005-2012 they were the same. So, I would say yes. And I love mine!

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West A couple parts

In cleaning the garage and shop I have found a couple items that came off a 1999 Scamper camper I had a few years ago. In reading some threads here I am sure the doors have a use for the "I want to use that little space in the wheel wells" crowd and the wrench/top lifter would be a great...

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West camper cover - any interest?

I've worked with the seamstress for years. There is a marine grade vinyl that we could use for the "window(s)". Like I said, it would compromise the water resistance of the fabric on top with all the additional needle pokes but, in your case that doesn't seem to be an issue. I'm heading out in...

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West camper cover - any interest?

Steelhead, that's why I halfway tried to figure a cost at around $300 for the Eagle. Looking at dimensions of the Fleet it would be cut and sewn a little differently but the only real difference would be the overhang which would be 5-6" shorter on the sides. So, the question is, "what would the...

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West camper cover - any interest?

MDM54, Not sure of you know how fabric comes or not. It comes on bolts and they are anywhere from 60-65" depending on a lot of things. With that in mind you either end up with 2 seams going North/South or 3 going East/West. After building boat covers for over 20 years it's all about best use of...

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West camper cover - any interest?

As a boat builder I have boat covers built for my boats. I was walking by my FWC Eagle today looking at the "silver silk cover" (silver tarp) and thought, "why wouldn't I make covers out of the same material? The way it lays out with the fabric sizing the cover would have two lengthwise seams...

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Does anybody use skid plate or rock sliders

I have the skid plate that came with the bumper and also use the factory skid behind that. Sliders? Yes, but I use them for parking lot protection. I know of 3 doors that have been dented because of those who love to swing their doors open when exiting a vehicle parked next to me. Oooops. lol

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Power plug/receptacle

2012 Tacoma and you did exactly where my mind is going. I just bought the Sierra 2 wire connector set on Ebay cheaper than I can get them for as a boat builder. Drivers side about 1/3 of the way up the panel?

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Power plug/receptacle

Thanks guys. The 7 way is not going to happen. If I already had it wired that way and it was in the truck already maybe. The Attwood idea is possible. Two 8 gauge wires (nice!), a covered female, flush mount receptacle. Sierra 2 wire trolling motor plugs look like they might do the trick.

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Power plug/receptacle

Ok, looking for a nice clean, flush mount receptacle (not a house outlet), only two prong to connect power to my Eagle. A power wire and a ground wire is all I need. Not a fan of the 7way plug and the 4 ways don't carry the load. The problem seems to be finding one that will carry a large enough...

I am the king of custom stuff. I build custom fly fishing prams for a living. This one I just want to get in and go fishing. Like any other DIY project they never seem to be "done done" as my neighbor says. I looked at the one in Mesa, AZ and saw it didn't have a fridge and decided against it. I...

Thanks, I saw this one too. Nice camper. Worth the money I think. My first thought was, "hmmm, I wonder if anyone from Seattle drove down to watch the Super Bowl, with an empty pick-up and wouldn't mind bringing it back for me?" With the average ticket price of $6,500 I doubt they would care...

Like many others here I am looking to buy a used All Terrain Campers Bobcat or a Four Wheel Campers Fleet. Would like to stay somewhere "around" $10k and located in the Northwest. I am also looking at the sites suggested but thought I would post it here too. Thanks Jim Wheeler 509-486-0599...
