RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West propane tank

Ditto Dog's comment - you can't use an upright tank on its side. Do you have a pic of the side that has the propane locker? I just can't believe that a Grandby that old has anything other than a locker for the vertical 20 lb. propane canister. Stan - any ideas???

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West propane tank

stone - I have an 82 Grandby and a 20 lb. tank (I assume that's 'standard size') fits (very tightly) in the propane cabinet on the left side rear of the camper. Yours should be very similar. I'm in Montana also - Helena - where are you at?

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West How To Tell Fwc Models Apart?

Sheeesh! And I thought I held the record (450.00 for an old Grandby). Congratulations! Dave P.S. I assume it's a project? Mine has issues but isn't too bad.

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Front Lift Failing

I just did this job (front and back) on my '82 Grandby. It's not that hard to do. Just drill out the rivets (I used a 9/64 bit) and replaced with 5/32 rivets. Getting the upper spring flexed is the hardest part - that thing is under a LOT of tension and you have to flex it down to rivet it...

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West A little help?

Well the job is done (front and back)!! We fabricated the boards from 5.2mm cedar ply. It really wasn't that bad, mostly just awkward. The hardest part is flexing down the upper hinge and getting it riveted into place. We had to *tweak* the sizing just a little due to fabric issues, but the...

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Replacement Boards

Finally started on the pop up replacement boards for my '82 Grandby/Eagle (Greagle?? It's a Grandby size but marked as an Eagle). Getting the old boards out was easy. Now time for fabrication/installation, which I think is going to be a LOT more difficult. Here's some pics of the old rotten...

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West A little help?

The work is in progress - given me and my helpers schedule it'll probably be two weeks+ We took measurements last nite but I don't want to post anything until the job is done and installed (in case we got it wrong ) But if we got it right, I'll post 'em up. dave

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West A little help?

I was wondering if anyone has the dimensions for the fold down boards for an '82 Grandby? My front boards have totally disintegrated and I can't get the dimension from them:mad: and while I'm at it I may as well replace the rear ones too! I am planning on using the 1/4 inch material that...

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West First Production Year for the Eagle

I don't know if this is exactly what you're asking but I have a '82 FWC that is exactly like a Grandby but is marked as an Eagle! Stan thought THAT was strange.

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West newby looking for advice

Thanks guys!! chnlisle: I'll give Chicali a call if I run into problems. Thanks. Stan: Yeah I bought it! It's rougher than the one you show. Also, I don't have the rear passenger side window and my door is older (door knob type). Everything else appears to be the same - same fabric...

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West newby looking for advice

Hi Folks!! Last week I stumbled on a camper for sale here in Helena. I took a look at it and turns out it is a 4W - its marked as an 'Eagle' but in reality it is the size of a Grandby. The info plate on back is unreadable but someone scratched '1982' on the plate - so I guess its an '82. Did...
