RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West short trip to the sierra's

Great pictures! I also like this info... its so dry that the forage is sparse and the bears are coming down low looking for anything to eat I sure would like to see some detail pictures regarding your water, jerry cans, and awning setup. Looks like there is a metal frame holding the awning...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Bear Question

Did you ever hear the story about a bear ripping the door off of a van to get a piece of gum? I do not even keep toothpaste in my camper in bear country... my 2 cents worth. Mike

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Difference between FWC and ATC

There is a thread on here somewhere (I've been searching, but can't find it) that does a good job of explaining the history, relationship, etc. Does anyone know the thread? http://www.wanderthewest.com/forum/showthread.php?t=225 Mike

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West A few quick shots of the shady boy awning

I ordered the extra upright poles for the front corners and went ahead and got the stock brackets (which are for a VW camper). I would skip both the brackets and extra poles if I had it to do over again. Just wondering why you would skip the poles? Is this awning fairly steady even with a...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Storage

Be real careful driving if you stick a lot of weight back out there because it unloads the front wheels, just like a see-saw. YUP... I only have carried a small chain saw, weed whacker, ear muffs, face shield, work shoes, and an EMPTY gas jug... less than 100 lbs. Mike

I used a bike rack to make a storage box. I took my Sportworks bike rack and converted it into a storage box to use on our 2006 RAV4 that we camp out of for three weeks in northwest Montana in June. (We are in the middle of buying a truck and a ATC or FWC camper.) First, I removed all the...

mike, you are correct sir! thats pretty cool, you could get a super skinny one if you wanted...personally, i'd rather have skinny, more visability, aerodynamics, less storage... Exactly! I am having a very difficult time comparing ATC vs FWC. I am really impressed with the FWC Grandby (but...

are the shell widths adjustable? seems like that would be a PITA, i think they are standard as well... For what it is worth, http://www.fourwheelcampers.com/specs.html says, "Width = VARIES" for Shell Models. Mike

Yes, I saw that web page, but there is not really any info about the outside width/height/weight/etc. According to http://www.fourwheelcampers.com/specs.html, the KEYSTONE, GRANDBY, HAWK = 80", and the RANGER, EAGLE, FALCON = 69". So, I guess that model? ATC is 80" + 4" = 84". Hmm, looks a...

I was just indicating that I know it is not an '07, and that the '07 is wider than the older Tundra's. I was just so surprised on how wide that ATC camper looks on that truck. I am just trying to find out how wide that ATC is, or how wide whatever year that truck is. Is there some place on...

That appears to not be a 2007 Tundra ('07 red tail light is on top). What model of ATC is that? Is the ATC wider much than 80" or is that Tundra not 79.9" like the 2007 Tundra? Confused, Mike
