RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Lift strut pics for natjwest. And everyone else I guess...

Okay yup that did it. I didn't think the shocks would reach all the way over around the gutter, but I will take a look at mine and hopefully set it up just like yours. Thanks much for posting these detailed pics.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Another roof rack thread...

I think the key is to get the off-set brackets for the rear lower lifter mount, which should clear the gutter. I got mine from Marty and they work fine on '08 Hawk. I bought the offsets, the ones everyone has mentioned in the lifter thingy thread, but my gutter appears to stick out too far for...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Shrunken clear vinyl "windows"

I have the vinyl in hand and am looking at the same two options: to sew or to use vinyl tape or glue. So...which one have you done...and how did it go? mizlightbulb I did the double-sided velcro option. The sticky-backed velcro was a LOT more expensive than plain backed, so my wife stitched...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Another roof rack thread...

Scout, I see in your first pic that you have a significant rear rain gutter. I have the same one. And in your second pic I see that you have the roof lifters. Do you have them in the rear? I can't seem to figure out how to get them attached in the rear with that large sized gutter. Can you send...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Got it weighed

I have a Grandby on a 2000 Chevy 2500 6.5 TD and I'm pretty much the same as you, always hovering around 9000. Oregon weigh stations leave the scales and readout on when they are "closed" so if you're ever in these parts, pull over whenever you want.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West State Hwy 20 opens

With any luck it won't be a long cold grey summer like it was last year, at least down here in Portland. I have some friends in the Methow valley just outside Winthrop, it's a nice place for sure.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Tore Out Mounting Tiedown on Camper

... I also placed foam pipe insulation on top of the bed rails, which helps eliminate sway and seals the wheel well space from dirt and water. ... Interesting that you have such tight tolerance on the bed rails. I know different trucks have different heights, but that sounds very close!

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Wiring from truck to camper

Not that I recommend it, but I know some people run the black wire to ground in the truck bed or frame somewhere rather than all the way back to the battery. Sometimes, I kinda wish I had done that. You can save yourself some cash by buying half as much wire, which allows you to upgrade your...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Klamath Falls & Crater Lake

From 395, if you take 139 to cut over to Klamath Falls, you'll pass right by a really neat park, Lava Beds National Monument. I visited there in January, had a good time. It's not a destination unto itself (IMHO) but a super-awesome layover and should not be driven past and ignored (again...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Wander the West inaugural campground cleanup and refurb

Please don't do it in late September. I have a big SE Oregon loop trip planned with my family to Ontario, Rome, Jordan, Owyhee, Succor, three forks, Alvord, Steens, Hart, etc and don't want to run into anyone. Especially a bunch of do-gooder outdoor-types in truck campers drinking beer. That...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Lost Coast

I visited Mattole this winter and it was a good drive in from 101 through Honeydew and Petrolia. Those are neat little towns, especially the general store (only store) in Petrolia. See the bottom of this post...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West GPS & Mount

Natjwest: cool app, but I am a Windows Mobile user (can't wait for Windows Phone 7 to be released on Verizon!). Also, I don't want to have to rely on consistent cell service in order to navigate. I am *really* not trying to sell you on the app, but just to correct a misconception. The cell...

Have you considered locating one of these devices and saving your strength for other pursuits? :P :P :P :P Awesome idea. Yes I had thought of it. I can get a plastic pressure reducer for just a couple bucks. I'll try to remember to bring a length of hose with me. Frequently though, the...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Thoughts on the NCO Cajita

... not a big white bread box. If you are going to bring a NCO to the market then you have to simplify the interior, drop the price and beet the competitors by finally bringing a good looking camper to the market. That's part of the appeal of the xp campers and the earth roamers, they have made...
