I have been using a crappy Coleman 5 gallon water cube, but the spigot is finally beyond use so I'm looking for a new one.

A friend has two of these:

I like the idea of a smaller jug so it's easier to pour into the camper. I also like the idea of a nozzle not a spigot like my crappy Coleman one has, again for ease of pouring into the camper.

Anyone have a better choice?

Okay done, thanks. I will try to make some hose/fittings for the threaded spout on the cans so I can fill the tank from the roof.

I have one of those, and it is pretty easy to fill the camper water tank with it, thanks to the spout. Warning, though - the little plug for the vent hole doesn't fit perfectly on mine, and if the jug falls on its side, it will leak. Otherwise, the construction is sturdy enough.

FWIW you can buy a replacement spigot for the Coleman containers from Coleman. As I recall they're less that $3 each. The only thing that I don't like about my Coleman is the difficulty in getting the spigot to screw on correctly, but then I work directly from the cube and am not trying to use it to refill another tank.

That is my experience with them - the vent hole always leaks! ARGGhhhh! I have a 5 gallon one that I never use because of the vent.

Let us know what you figure out- I've been curious what might fit that threaded spout but have been too lazy to figure it out myself.

I like the collapsable 5 gallon containers. When your finished with it, you can collapse it down and easily store it. No need for empty jugs in or on your rig taking up space. There are many brands out there if you do an internet search...

Have you considered locating one of these devices and saving your strength for other pursuits?

Awesome idea. Yes I had thought of it. I can get a plastic pressure reducer for just a couple bucks. I'll try to remember to bring a length of hose with me. Frequently though, the camper is a long way from the water, when I need the water.

I just bought one of these and had plans of storing them under the benches in the camper - they missed it by that much.... Probably 3/4" too tall to not get smooshed by the seats.

They do seem a touch sturdier that the coleman ones - but have the same chintzy air release plug. I used my 'free money' rei dividend so I don't feel too bad.

Anyone use/seen these reliance cans? They look a bit sturdier and I'm assuming the vent seals off better:

I think that is what I got on line through Walmart. Haven't used it a lot but surely seems sturdy.

I use the Blitz 6.5g water containers.
Made in USA, self venting so no leaking out the vent hole.

They are really tough, readily available, and relatively cheap.

done.
