RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Storage ideas for FWC

Not a clear solution but what I use. I have my rear seats removed and can use for storage but my big Dog is almost always with me so his space. When wife and I go on "longer" trips we always needed more easily accessed space. It's a PIA to load and unload camper of extra gear at start and end of...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Camper steps

You all... ignore me cause I'm old but... I've been on two trips this year where an ankle was twisted pretty bad by participants. One was a younger FWC owner the other was older like me ;) They both slipped getting out of camper. They are both looking at better steps now. A twisted ankle or a...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Mid-Atlantic Backcountry Discovery Route & Overland Expo East trip

I did the route in June... being from TX it was a refreshing run. I broke off and went to the Flight 93 memorial too. Looking forward to planning another run maybe in the Fall. I too ran it backwards... on my way up I spent one night in Shenandoah National Park's Skyline Drive and REALLY want to...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Texas Avid Outdoors annual expo here in Texas

The Arkansas Rendezvous is at Byrd's Adventure Center this year. It has been at a couple other locations in the past but I think they are set with Byrd's but not sure.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West FWC Rear Awning

I have the factory rear awning and it works as designed. I added one of my OZ tent cross poles to help hold it open. Homemade or this factory awning do not do well in windy rainy weather. With this pole stretched between the support pole it helps a lot in bad weather...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Texas Avid Outdoors annual expo here in Texas

Beach it's normally the first weekend of October... next year it should be back to that date. Texas Avid Outdoors has other commitments so that is a good date for them. It's a lot of work for them even though they now have a pretty good system. The Arkansas Rendezvous is October too so for...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Texas Avid Outdoors annual expo here in Texas

Just returned from the 5th annual TAO Expo here in Texas and we had FWC's there :) Dave Jensen was a vendor here and had two of his on display but we had others. Our numbers are increasing... and people like them! I'm working on a just FWC get together but this was fun.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Fiamma F45 awning

I have one on my FWC Hawk and love it. I have had a myriad of awnings on my other trailers and this is by FAR the best. I agree with the "rattle" but I need to research as I think someone posted a solution. I don't think you could go wrong with it.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Electrical Fire

Just an FYI as we had smoke damage once at the house. Companies like Rainbow International Carpet cleaning and restoration have some kind of ionized type machine they can put in and it absorbs the smoke smell. Worked great in my garage insurance paid so not sure of cost :(

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Sightings thread

Not a sighting but thought I'd mention. I just finished an East Coast trip that included camping there and back along with doing the Mid Atlantic Back road Discovery Route. I was kind of dismayed at the lack of vehicles setup for primitive or dispersed camping. I saw no other FWC's, a few BIG...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West New to the family

Welcome!! Not an F150 but I have an F250 with a fully optioned Hawk. I added airbags and onboard air with controller. I use the bags aired up for better stability on the road. Let air out when off road and let suspension do it's job. Hence the onboard air and controller making it easy. I can...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Made a Shower Head Holder

Ok so I'm guessing they have changed the outside shower system? Mine is a 2015 Hawk and does not have hot cold handles just adjust on the handle of fixture. There is an OEM shower holder available?

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Buying Trailer To Tow Behind Tundra/Hawk; Request Input

Timely post for me :( I modified a Jet Ski trailer to haul my Kayaks and Canoe. Was returning from a weekend trip yesterday and had issue. Luckily my bud was following us and saw the issue. The wheel bearing in the passenger side trailer wheel seized up. This trailer has smaller wheels and not...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Is my buddy smarter than I?

I was camping with some friends this past weekend in the rain. Various setups and I was the only FWC onsite. Looking at the other setups I mentioned the Hawk had an additional SOLAR plug at the back so I could plug a second backup solar when needed. It was a rainy weekend and batteries were...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West FWC Sizing

No idea but thought I'd add my .02 When I purchased my 2015 Hawk for my F250 I was told that the Ford's have a higher bed to cab top height and were built specific for Fords. No idea if really a factor but thought I'd toss it out. If true all you might need to do is build up bed floor with brace?

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West BUILD: New Flatbed for standard FWC

I'm in Texas... I wonder how long they would need my truck and camper? It's an F250 with Hawk. I wonder if they can design and I just show for an install?
