RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Propane Alarm

I had random propane alarms when storing camper with propane off. I found the model CO/Propane detector had been discontinued and replaced by a new model. The new model 31012 is advertised as having less false alarms. I think the old model number was 31011. I found it here cheapest...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Roof panel edges.

It is just the caulking. We purchased directly from FWC in Woodland, it's just a pain to get it to them and there service department is probably backed up a few weeks. I guess I will need to contact them. :(

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Roof panel edges.

I have this cracking opening up around the edge of the roof panel in several spots, is it a problem/normal. Can it be corrected? Purchased our Fleet new last February.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Air bag and tire pressure

I have a Tacoma with stock springs, heavy duty shocks, Firestone air bags and E rated tires. I run 75 lbs of air in the bags and 70 lbs in the tires. Handling feels fine to me.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Fuel Cans

I have used Blitz Jerry cans and Rotopax's and never had leaks even with 8000' elevation changes.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Fuel Cans

Has anyone ever heard of FWC jack brackets failing under any condition? Does fluid in a gas container provide a dampening effect on wash board road as opposed to a solid weight? Engineers? I'm just a redneck fabricator, LOL.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West 65L Isotherm 2-way fridge questions

I'm missing my ARB fridge also. The FWC salesman to me I would be happy Isotherm fridge. After spending a weekend in 90 plus degree temperatures, fridge running constantly and 160 watt panel never able to fully charge the dual batteries. I can say I'm not happy but willing to accept it. The ARB...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Fuel Cans

Thanks! It helps when your best friend is a engineer, you show him what you want, he draws it up in minutes and has proto type laser cut same day. :)

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Fuel Cans

I don't travel rough roads much so I think I will be fine with 3 gallon Rotopax on jack mounts. Here is my prototype bracket out of steel with 1/4 spacer behind to space bracket away from camper body. When Rotopax is locked on it blocks access to bracket bolts and nuts on back side will be...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Mounting Glowsteps on Hawk

I do not have enough room to fold them up with the mounting location and they would block the license plate. They ride inside the back door.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Mounting Glowsteps on Hawk

I just mounted glow steps yesterday. My wife's medical condition requires something stable for her to get in and out. I did not see a good way to mount steps on our fleet and did not feel good about drilling in to the unknown. I made a bracket that mounts on lower panel of rear bed support of...

Boy that last step in the second picture could be a dusy in the middle of the night. :D

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West FWC rubber bumpers

I could understand leaving the factory bumpers with a truck with a metal bed. A Tacoma has a composite bed (plastic like) which provides no support for anything wedged up against it. The rear turn buckles pulling back and front turn buckles pulling forward is the only thing keeping a camper in...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West OEM switch panel, 2015 Grandby

When we bought our camper from FWC I asked for extra switches, they just gave them to me.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West 52" Yakima air deflector installed on Tacoma

Thanks, I,m over 6". Couple inches forward will get bar out from under camper and rid chance of cross bar hitting camper off roading.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West 52" Yakima air deflector installed on Tacoma

How far back is yours from the front edge to the top of your windshield? I was thinking about moving mine forward a little bit but I'm afraid if I get to close to windshield air might go under it and flip it up.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West 52" Yakima air deflector installed on Tacoma

I used all the Yakima provided mounting hardware that comes with deflector, Q-towers and round bar. Just like shown in this video install.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West 52" Yakima air deflector installed on Tacoma

52" Yakima air deflector installed. I already had bar and towers. Not sure it makes any wind noise difference but I assume it does and might slightly be more aerodynamic. :)

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Converter 5 Amp Fuse

I think I remember being told on walk around if I want to charge off of shore power the master power switch needs to be off are you doing that? I don't think that explains the fuse blowing issue.
