RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Advice needed; Charge Controller

Thanks Vic. Yes both panels are 12V output and I will double check with a voltmeter. I removed the controller from the older panel so both panels can be run through the one controller. We are getting ready to head out on a 7 day trip so I ran the refrigerator and fan last night so I can play...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Rear Wall Steps, Best Use?

Along with all the other other ideas list here I use them to stand on to remove snow during the winter and can also reach the stuff in the back of the yakima box if I approach strategically.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Advice needed; Charge Controller

Ok install complete. I ended up mounting it in a cabinet under the sink. Seems to have plenty of airflow in there and made working with the wires easy. All the solar wiring was tucked up under the sink as well. It was obvious which was which as the shorter red and black cables were from the...

Not 100% sure if there are the same or not. It’s pretty tight in there but I am going to play around a bit with again this evening and see if I can get a bit creative with a location.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Advice needed; Charge Controller

Thanks Rando. After some time looking around I am thinking the same thing. Won’t be directly near the battery but pretty close. Vic. Yeah I thought I had it dialed as I have had the monitor for a couple trips now. Went back through the set up and seems to be better. Reading 100% at 13.37V...

Also my Victron app is showing 98% charged but reading only 11.99v. Seems awful low. Not sure I have the right set up through the battery monitor

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Advice needed; Charge Controller

Looking for suggestions or ideas about where to mount my Victron 110/30 charge controller in hawk side dinette. Not really any room in the battery compartment and also not sure how good the airflow is there. Ideally right outside the battery compartment, near the floor but we store bags on the...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Portable solar help.

Awesome Thanks... We will see how it goes. We don't spend too much time in one spot and with a yakima box on the top and mostly camping in the shade around here hoping a little additional solar may be the ticket. Plus the panel was given to me so it will be a great test.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Portable solar help.

Thanks pvstoy Yes, I am aware of the reverse polarity so I will get that figured out via a Multi-meter just to make sure. My one question is what do you mean by "connected" with the under the sink wires. They are currently terminated in the plastic push connectors. All red in one and ll...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Portable solar help.

I recently acquired a renogy 100w portable panel with controller as part of the portable set up. My hawk is pre-wired top and rear. I have found the the push pin connectors stashed behind the sink and also the collied wires near the battery. I am trying to figure out how to wire this all...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Roof storage rack for Hawk

We have a 2017 Hawk. I recently installed the Yakima rack system which was incredibly easy. We currently have a space case up top which is a really nice for storing stuff. Skis, fly rods, misc stuff etc... It is not ideal using the extended ladder but also just has become part of process when...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Front Dinette or Side Dinette?

We just picked up our Hawk Side Dinette a couple months ago and only have 2 trips so far. For just the 2 of us so far we like it. Have spent a lot of time inside on those trips due to the weather and once it warms up most time will be spent outside. Works for us. I also did one night of stealth...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Snow: how much is too much?

We just went through a large storm cycle in here in Tahoe. Camped at the resort and cleared about 12' off the roof before bed and woke up again at 6am to another 12 inches on the roof. Used the ladder and broom to clean it off before heading back in for some food. Cleaned it one more time before...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Installation Scheduled! Any questions I should Ask FWC

Thanks Everyone. Super helpful as always. My wait will be 12 weeks exactly from order date. Was told to expect about 15-17. We only live about 2 hours from the Woodland factory so if we have to head back down for something its not a huge deal. Can't wait... we will be heading to mammoth the next...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Installation Scheduled! Any questions I should Ask FWC

Got the call to schedule my installation on a new hawk in a couple weeks and I couldn't be more excited. Truck is all set with Airbags, new brakes and "E" Rated tires and am excited for the first trip. I know FWC will walk you through the camper and its nuances but any questions I should be...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Decision Made…. Little power help please

You all got me thinking now. Can I mount the panel far enough forward up top that a cargo or rocket box won't cover it? I know it all adds weight to the roof but I figure the box would end of covering some of the panel. I guess have some part of the panel is Better than nothing.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Decision Made…. Little power help please

Thanks for all the info. So many options which is really something I really appreciate. Guess I will spend some time and talk with the crew at FWC and also see what they think at ATC. I know there is a long wait but hoping to pull the trigger soon and get this going. Especially if FWC is going...
