RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Cooper Discoverer ATP/AT3 Tires - a Personal Critique

I'm on my second set of Cooper Discoverer AT3 for both my Tacoma (including camper) and Jeep Cherokee. I've had three flats on the Jeep and none on Tacoma. 6.5 years on the Jeep and 5 years on the Tacoma. Very satisfied with them. The Cooper ATP is the same exact tire except for the...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Suspension/shock advice for 2nd gen Tacoma 6' bed with 8' camper

On my 2015 Tacoma I too have the firestone airbags and daystar cradles. Added the Bilstein 5100s and Old Man Emu leaf springs which significantly reduce sway and bounce. I keep the airbags at 20lbs. Works for me.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Mojave National Preserve - December 2019

We met at the Hickison campground east of Austin, NV, two Sept. ago. I was at Palen - McCoy Wilderness camping this past Christmas, so was only a 3-4 hours south of you. Its a big world out there. Great photos.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West ARB vs Dometic ?

I have a Dometic cfx 35, using it about 4 months a year for the last 3 years. No difficulties or problems of any sort. I purchased the insulated cover, which I highly recommend. Waeco (an Australian company) used to make the cooler, having been bought by Dometic around 4 years ago.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Tacoma Suspension Upgrades - Help!

I've got a 2015 Taco with ATC. Added OME dakar leaf springs with upgraded shocks - front and back (a must). Safer drive (reduces significantly the sway and bounce). Better on off pavement too. If you remove the camper now and then OME dakar will be too stiff, so go with the add leafs.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Best Tires For 1995 F350 & 1996 Squire 8000?

The Cooper ATP and AT3 are of the same carcass (this from a conversation with a Cooper rep). The primary difference is in looks. The ATP tread looks more aggressive, and likely provides a slight improvement on off-pavement. The AT3 probably performs better on highway. The difference may be...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Tire Recommendations

Cooper Discoverer AT/3. Solid tire with excellent performance on wet roads, handles superbly on highway and is quiet. Can't go wrong.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West suspension

I drive a 2015 Taco with ATC Bobcat camper. Replacing the leaf springs (EMU dakar springs) was the most important addition since the Taco leaf springs are soft. This drastically reduced the sway and bounce due to the camper weight. I added Bilstein 5100 shocks to lift the front to accommodate...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Portable Fridge for Panther

I've got domestic CFX-35, for two years, with insulation cover. Has worked very well. Engels and ARB are likely just as good. I'd recommend the insulation cover for use during hot summers. You may consider whether each of these coolers include the option of an insulation cover as the...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West What's your favorite camp chair?

I use the Strongback and am pleased with it except for one thing: when cold in the morning (and not all that cold: below 40F) the chair won't fold shut. I have to wait till it warms up before I'm able to fold it. Anyone else with this problem?

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West ATC Bobcat couch question

I went with half a couch to accommodate an electric cooler near the cab and a work shelf at rear. So you have the option of going with 1/2 or full couch.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Dometic CFX-65DZUS: any experience?

I have the Dometic CFX-35. It has been used for 25 weeks over the last 1.5 years and seems to be doing just fine. Don't know the power usage and don't seem to have any problems with it.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Deavers are on, next up: sway bars or bilsteins?

I drive a 2015 Tacoma with ATC - Bobcat. I installed Bilstein 5100 and Old Man Emu Dakar springs. Together it reduced sway and bounce considerably. I considered ant-sway bar and after considerable research decided to go solely with the aforementioned upgrade because I run rough backcountry...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Three new National Monuments in California

Monuments place some restrictions, benefiting conservation, but they typically aren't like Parks leading to fee paying campgrounds and other developments like paved roads. There will be dispersed camping in an area like this - where I passed through/camped 3 weeks ago with AT Camper. Roads...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Cabeza Prieta NWR, Arizona

Was at Cabeza Prieta a few weeks ago. Did a 17 day backpack there in the mid-90s. Once in the area you're likely to see plenty of Fish & Wildlife rangers and Border Patrol due mostly to pot smugglers and a illegal immigrants. Good place to get lots of extended day hikes. Requires a permit...
