RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Fill water tank?

It is always best to use water that has been filtered through a combination of malted barley, wheat and hops.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West replacing roof vent

Yes, you can get just the lid. It is a simple job to do. Just be careful when working on the roof as you want to spread your weight across the roof beams, so you don't dent the siding.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West A new door for an old Granby

Hey DR, I really like that little access door you have cut into the wall of the couch storage, might have to nick that idea from you! Actually that was done by the P/O and it was done rather crudely. I keep plastic grocery bags stuffed in there. Handy for dog crap... I bought this camper...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Door parts

I have a door lock and window from an older 4WC door. Cost is free. However, if I have to package up the window for shipping, I may ask for some $$ for that since it would take some time to do it properly. I know there are some folks out there doing rebuilds, so these may be useful. Door latch...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West A new door for an old Granby

The door is pre-hung in the frame. You just place it in the opening of the camper and screw away. It screws into the square tubing on the camper and I used the putty tape for sealant. If you order one, be very specific about the dim's as they will make it slightly smaller. I'm really happy...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West A new door for an old Granby

Bill, thanks for the heads up. Planning to replace all of the curtains, but I see the door window/screen area is tight. Barko, Door cost was $295. However it cost another $110 to have it crated and shipped from 4WC to me (Fed-x was $85). Install was easy. Had to add a piece of alum. trim on...

Thanks Mark! So the 500K limit is for each post? If so, then all is well. I guess I was thinking that this was an overall upload limit for all of my posts.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West A new door for an old Granby

Ordered a new door from Terry at 4WC and put in in. The old one was in bad shape, cracked frame and rotted out. Plus I gained a screen door, which really makes it worth it and it closes so nicely. Now I need to fab up a screen for the front window... Went from...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Yakima Roof Track Sealant

I use this: 3m 08019 Color - Clear. High quality silicone designed for the harsh marine environment. It forms a mildew-resistant, non-yellowing seal that remains flexible even after years of exposure.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Fill water tank?

Here is a handy gadget. Some campgrounds have water bib's with no threads to connect a hose. This allows you to connect to that. I've had it for many years, don't know what it's called or where I got it.

Use a Marine type sealant. Try a local boat supply or West Marine, Boater's World. Marine grade stuff is made to withstand all the elements.

Any thoughts on my reasoning or just comments on my paranoia? :) Paul Actually, I add a tablespoon of Bleach to my tank and flush it during the summer months. We don't really drink the tank water, just cooking, cleaning and brushing. Also, I always keep the tank full.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Wireless Refrigerator Thermometer

Here is what I have. I contemplated using a digital C/F switchable probe thermometer from a Life link snow study kit I have, but I'm not much of a fan of battery operated stuff. In the 6 years I've had mine, I replaced the coin battery once and it is always on.

That's probably what I would do. Drill a small hole an upper corner of the door, insert probe thermometer, epoxy the backside to the door, seal up the inside, voila. That's what I did. However I'm not afraid to drill holes into things, but some folks are...

Brings back memories of this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rodeo%E2%80%93Chediski_Fire USFS closed every forest in AZ and blocked each and every entrance. We had gone to AZ for a week of camping around Williams and had to turn back. Fire info can be found here: http://inciweb.org/
