    Camper support cradle with wheels

Aloha all! Ive been out of touch for quite some time although it looks like WTW is still very active. Great! Im looking for an older post where the poster showed pics and details of a FWC cradle that had wheels on it so that you could wheel your camper around the garage for better storage and...

Best wall anchors for interior paneling not near studs?

This works too! I managed to get pouches that had the velcro pre-installed. The con is that you have to remove to stow the roof. So, yet again, another thing to store. My solution was to pitch the pouches and carry way less crap!

    Free to Good Home!

Aloha all, shipping my rig far, far away and need to clean out my storage unit of camper related items. First, a 4’x8’ sheet of 3/4” marine grade plywood that has been quartered and slotted to make two camper stands. Easy and effective. Stores easily. Second, a 100’ roll of black camper...

Interior roof trim & Overhang coating

Aloha, finally able to return to mainland for an overdue camping soirée! #$&@ pandemic!! Anywho I’ve been able to blissfully ignore a couple of festering problems while the camper has been in storage. Grateful for any solutions/suggestions. 1) Roof interior trim pieces that were originally...

    Slide out bed retainers

Hi all, have an 04 Grandby shell. It came with wood screws in the side rails that served to retain/limit the slide out portion of the bed. I replaced these with blocks of wood, monkey glued, onto the rails and sidewalls after the original screws ending up wearing away the frame and no longer...

    Low Cost Mods

You know the old line, "Put your eye out with that kid!", well those flip up side windows on my 2004 Grandby shell have damn near done that to me! Finally got some safety orange duct tape and highlighted the window edge. Sure, it looks like hell but then again I'm still in the seeing business...

What Older FWC Fits Early Tundra - Eagle & Kestrel Only?

I have a 2004 Grandby Shell that fits our 2005 Toyota Tundra. Just. We're talking 1/4" gap between camper and that damn bed protrusion. You get very good at greasing her in when it's time to load/unload. Sent from my iPad using Wander The West

    Joad mobile tandem bike rack

So, back on mainland doing our bi annual trek to Burning Man. Have always stuck tandem inside camper but a real pain in the butt to pull out every nite for camping. So, being not the brightest and working off a limited time schedule, budget, and parts/tool bin this is what I came up with. So...

    1st gen Tundra questions?

We love our 05 tundra with a used 03 Grandby shell. Bought truck new, just turned 75k! Only used for camping and hauling firewood. Now it's full time with camper. I had Firestone ride rites put on in 06 and IMHO they are a pita. They do the job but if I had to do it over again I'd go with...

    Eastern Sierras & Internet/Cell Access

K6ON, thanks for the info. As we head to mammoth we'll spend some time in Lone Pine country as well. Good advice. I'm excited, haven't seen this country since mid seventies as a kid.

    Eastern Sierras & Internet/Cell Access

Thanks all. I think we'll focus on the mammoth area. I know all the campgrounds will be packed. Might luck out on a first come, first served basis but realistically it's why we all have these rigs eh? To get out back of beyond! Ted, enjoy your stay, looks like Hilda took a pass and that's...

    Eastern Sierras & Internet/Cell Access

Aloha all, Back on the mainland for a spell this summer. Need to find an area preferably in the eastern sierras within a day's drive from Vegas that has good to excellent cell access. My wife is the duty officer for her hospital for a week and she has to be accessible 24/7. After that the...

    Burning Man

Well, I said I'd post something on this years Burning Man, so here goes. How to explain Burning Man? Hmm, well you wake up at noon, open the door to the camper even though you’re not wearing a stitch, (except maybe the feather boa that was gifted to you the nite before when you were riding...

    Burning Man

Oh, and somewhere in there I'm stuffing a cheapo tandem bike! This packing job will certainly warrant a pic or two for the forums enjoyment and groans! How much can you stuff into a 05 Tundra anyway?!!! MH

    Burning Man

TK, I'm planning on a similar haul of H20. I have the standard blue plastic containers but also invested in some knock down cardboard boxes with 5 gallon Mylar bag inserts similar to what I'm used to from the feds that are called cubitainers (cubies). I was looking for something reusable yet...

    Burning Man

TK, Keep the hits coming! Great info here...I had spaced the grey water issue. I was actually able to latch onto a regional group and will be staying in their encampment. In some regards that should make it abit easier although I'm sure they will have their own peculiar initiation rites...

    Awnings Again?!

Desert Rancher, Thanks alot for the info. Am looking forward to having some shade out in the desert soon! Will be attaching rail to, hopefully, the tube that the roof latches are mounted on. One of the pioneers of this attached in this area so if it worked for them ought to work for me. MH

    Burning Man

BC & TGK, Great! Just the info and reality check I was thinking of. I'm a relative novice when it comes to desert camping and so have lots to learn but some of the things you come across in the forums relating to BM seem to come from alot of folks that have only camped at BM and for a week out...

    Burning Man

Hey all, Umm, heading off to Burning Man pretty soon and am wondering if any of you all have attended it? I would be interested in hearing how the FWC held up under the dust storms and extreme temps? Any suggestions/recommendations are always appreciated. MH

    Ultimate Awning Thread

Re: Burning Man My wife and I are going to attend this year and taking the Grandby. How did your FWC work for you last year at the event? Any suggestions? I'm curious as to how your awnings survived? I figure we'll just take ours down every nite when we're out and about in case wind or...
