Out in the El Paso's this past weekend for a 4x4 Class. Been curious what I can do in this truck. Turns out I can do way more than I would've thought. I was the only one with a luxurious place to camp if we needed to.

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Dometic Toilet Water Pressure Pump Not Working

I only thought about it when I was typing up my post last night. Next time it fails I'll take pics. Hopefully it will be a while. :D

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Dometic Toilet Water Pressure Pump Not Working

Ok, so I tore into it today. I was somewhat reluctant because as luck would have it, it appeared to be working again. I didn't want to make it worse since the pump was creating some pressure again, although it was quite sticky. So I figured it was still looking into. I was able to unscrew the...

Thank you. I'm going to try and open it up tonight or tomorrow. Hoping it's something like that.

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Dometic Toilet Water Pressure Pump Not Working

Hopefully this is the right place to post this. I have a Dometic toilet in our Four Wheel Camper. It's either the 970 or the version just before. The pump to pressurize the tank has stopped working. The lever comes up and can be pushed down, but it feels like something inside is not making a...

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Portable Fridge Power While Driving? Noob Question.

I had no idea that the House battery only charged with the switch on. It makes sense, but I was always under the impression that it was being charged when I drove no matter if the switch was on or off. I guess I've gone 2 years without charging it then. Thank you for that info.

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Portable Fridge Power While Driving? Noob Question.

My questions were related to my Four Wheel Camper. Why did this get moved?

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Portable Fridge Power While Driving? Noob Question.

Thanks for that link. Mine is a little different, but I found it. I have a side dinette, so the battery is under the rear facing seat. I found the Surefire Battery Separator in the cubby on the driver side. I think the Thermal Breaker was located just under it as well. I didn't have a flash...

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Portable Fridge Power While Driving? Noob Question.

I guess that's the main question. I'm not sure if I have a battery separator. Where would that be located? In the shell itself or is that mounted closer to the truck's starter battery?

Thanks! The Dometic has the same feature so maybe I'm just worrying about it more than I need to. Appreciate the reply.

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Portable Fridge Power While Driving? Noob Question.

Hi all, This may be a basic question, but I've searched the forum and didn't find the answer. I have a Hawk Shell model with a single battery. We just added a Dometic 35 Portable Fridge (no more ice!). I've always kept the house power off while driving, only switching on power when needed at...

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Mounting Wave 3 in Hawk

For the people adding the Wave, or any heater to your camper, without the stock furnace where are you mounting our propane? I have the shell without the furnace/propane box. So no access from the outside door. Could I just mount a small propane tank to the back wall? Then just drill a hole for...

Stan, Is there any reason why this couldn't be mounted on the driver's side? To work alongside my existing awning?

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West FWC New Awning

Very timely. I've been considering the Oz Tent Foxwing. I believe it's the same item that Rhino Rack sells. I've been curious if it would be too much of a hassle to deploy with the roof lifted. I was planning to mount it to my crossbars, but if there's a bracket to mount it to the side of the...

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Extra Fuel Carry Options?

Thanks for all the feedback. I rode my moto from LA to Alaska last summer. I too carried an extra gallon of gas and never needed it, but it gave me a big piece of mind. Also, like Ramblinman mentions above, I assumed that fuel would be available 24-7 but it wasn't. There were a couple times...

How are your holders mounted? A plate under the wing similar to other campers? Looks good.

Your door opens up to the right and blocks the window? Mine opens to the left. So I guess I may have to block the window. I didn't think about that.

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Extra Fuel Carry Options?

Planning a trip up through Canada this summer and I'd like to carry 10 extra gallons. Did some searching but I was wondering if there were any options I was overlooking. Considering a roof rack with fuel cans up high, but worried about the extra weight on the roof. 10 gallons is roughly 75...

We had a great time. Mostly. My wife got sick Saturday night so that made for a rough Sunday morning. Would've been nice to socialize more. Thanks for the tour of your camper RC Pilot Jim. I only took a few pics.

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Question for installing L Track on the floor.

The floor is 5/8" plywood. I ended up finding it in a thread after all. For future reference I used 1/4-20 x 1" stainless steel oval head machine screws with T nuts. First I used 1 1/4" length screws so I could attach the T Nut underneath. Then I seated the T Nut, removed the 1 1/4" screw and...

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Question for installing L Track on the floor.

I haven't removed my shell from the truck yet and I wanted to get an idea of how long a bolt I should get for the floor. I have cut my L-track to the correct length and need to get the hardware still. The L-Track is 1/4" thick but the floor thickness is an unknown. I plan to drill through the...
