Other than the RV Pro advertisement, without logging out & back in ads have stopped on my system. Somebody must be working behind the scenes. Thanks to the concealed toiler. Paul

    Advertisements

Well, ads have started for me & I am always logged in when browsing WTW. On my iPad Pro, 10.5” IOS 17.7, Safari current version, I now see 3 ads on the right side of the WTW content. I logged out of WTW, closed all tabs in Safari, closed Safari, powered down my iPad. Waited 10 minutes, powered...

    Something New Is Afoot

Now,now. It has been reported that Scotty visited Marty to take orders for transparent aluminum. Marty may used some panels of that for roof & walls. The real question is whether one can spin transparent aluminum like steel wool for the insulation. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Paul

Soldier Meadows NV north to the Steens Mtns mid Oct.

Several years ago, we camped at Fish Lake on Steens Mtn in late Sept/ early Oct. Weather was cold at night but we can deal with that. The tough part was finding a campsite as the place had many empty parked trailers/campers holding spots for deer hunting season which starts Oct 5 this year...

    Miss you all!

Dawn, Great to hear from you & your activities. Congrats on your finishing your Piled Higher & Deeper. Hope it brings increased riches so you can get another mobile camping abode with much space for carrying found 4 legged critters. Hope your pups are doing as well as you seem to be doing. Paul

    Alaskan Camper Wiring Check

On photo 7726, there looks to be a wire connected directly to the negative battery post bypassing the shunt. What is that wire & why isn’t it connected to the input side of the shunt? Whatever current passes thru that wire would not be included in the battery monitor calculations and display. Paul

BMS disconnecting LiFePO4 charger at 14.0 volts

Maybe I missed it in the discussion, but I assume positive lead is on battery 1 and negative is on battery 2? Not to be confused with a serial connection but to keep lead resistance equal for the two batteries. Paul

Corner Crossing - the right of Public Access to Gov Land vs the rights of Private Owners

The solution is for the governmental entities involved to purchase the private land or purchase a public easement to allow crossing over for those that do not respect private property. If the private landholders do not protect their property, it will become public property through adverse...

    Propane sensor

Power for refer fan. The other wire end is near the upper vent behind the fridge. You probably have a 3 switch panel with one missing for Refer Fan. Mine works now. I got a switch from FWC, installed it and added a small 12 volt computer fan that I tie-wrapped to top louver to keep cooler air...

    Help on battery replacement..............................

It appears that your battery is the GC2 size. Battleborn sells a 100Ah GC2 LiFePO4 battery. A pair of those 12 volt batteries should fit in the same location. I have those in my FWC Hawk camper. Remember that wiring them is different than a pair of 6 volt batteries like you have now. They must...

    Disconnecting Iota charger

You might consider replacing your Iota with one without the internal IQ4 module & buy the IQ4-LIFEPO plug-in IQ4 unit. You could also pick a DLS unit with higher power output if desired. On cursory reading of the IOTA sales info, it appears that the DLS 30, 45, & 55 amp models have close...

Snow Broke my FWC Hawk Roof

Forgetting to open one of the roof latches is too easy. Having made that mistake, I settled on placing a small piece of bright orange duct tape inside each latch. I then walk around the truck twice counting bright orange spots. If I count 6 bright spots each time, it’s safe to raise the roof...

    FWC running lights issue

It sounds like Jon may be right about the isolation & that the electrons for the marker lights arrive from the truck on the marker light wire but have to search for a return path via any camper ground conductive metals that are touching truck ground conductive metals. As a clear return path was...

    Victron Controller Unusual Trend

You may want to contact your charge controller’s tech support. They would have information on what you should see in the app & be able to evaluate your configuration settings. I’m not familiar with HQST’s products. I didn’t see a manual listed on their website. Most manufacturers want their...

    Victron Controller Unusual Trend

More info would be useful. The power dropping while the volts stayed high might be the battery charger entering a different phase of the charge profile. Was the SOC (State Of Charge) of the battery near full when the power dropped? Paul

Power Stations - Are They Worth It?

How many watts of AC (I assume) do you need for that fridge? If 300 watts or less, why not just get a pure sine wave inverter like this Giandel? Run it off your camper, truck, or extra battery for your current purposes. You can use it for your camera battery recharges, also. I, recently, bought...

    Switching propane regulator?

My guess that FWC switched from one 20 lb tank to two 10 lb tanks due to customer requests to be able to keep propane attached to camper accessories and also have propane outside camper for cooking, light, propane fireplace, etc. Having an auto-switching regulator could defeat that...

    Water system issue

*2 on what Ye Ol' Wanderer said. Put it on shore water with faucets on until all the hoses are filled, and the water heater tank is filled. Takes much less time and requires no battery power. As pvstoy said remember to open the outer sink drain and remove the sink stopper while filling on city...

    WTW format

I hear you, camelracer. I'm getting better at finding the unread posts per forum, but it has been somewhat of a struggle as it is new to me & I had more than 10 years rooting around in the old one. We'll get there but it is not as efficient moving around because it's new to me. We have had a...

Forum Update - We're back! Ask your questions here.

It has taken me awhile to find my way around in the new software but mostly, I am finding the performance smooth & fast. Image handling works well and easier to add images without editing (shrinking, esp.) Didn't realize how much muscle memory I had acquired over the years  good job and...
