New thermal pack: quilted with lower window covers

That price is pretty crazy. I think the original one is way over priced for what it is. With a decent semi industrial sewing machine its likely less than a day of work to improve the original so I might try to do that since I already have the machine to do it.

    Entry door window issue

I received the new frame and window from FWC. The newer design appears to be improvement from the old one as it has full plastic piece formed all around the window instead of just small plastic tabs.

    Entry door window issue

Thank you Vic, I appreciate the links! Apparently a common issue. FWC called back and are sending a replacement window frame, $35 plus shipping. I will also used the RTV, or silicone and maybe fab up some rubber stoppers to use inside the frame.

    Entry door window issue

On my 2018 Hawk I just noticed on the entry door that the window slid down and has a big gap at the top. Possibly from the sealant being heated up from the sun? I will call FWC but in the mean time has anyone experienced this and have a good fix? Thanks!

    Solar Controller Problems

MPPT is working well so far with the disconnected and capped load wires. If the MPPT fails again I will for sure post on this thread.

    Solar Controller Problems

I received my third charge controller from overland solar. I have disconnected and capped the load wiring from the controller since it is not needed and may be the cause of the problem. Hopefully third time is a charm!

    Solar Controller Problems

Still awaiting a reply from Overland Solar and FWC about my MPPT failures. I did speak with Service at FWC and they forwarded my troubles to a electronics guy about a week ago but I have not heard back as of yet. In any case when I get a replacement MPPT from either FWC or Overland Solar I...

    Solar Controller Problems

Hi acmedave, did you ever figure out the cause of you MPPT failures in your 2018 Hawk? I just had my second Overland Solar MPPT fail on my 2018 Hawk with the FWC installed Overland Solar system. It functioned properly for roughly 2 weeks before failure. The load wires were connected to the...

    Solar Controller Problems

Following this thread closely as I have a similar issue. 2018 Hawk, original owner, (November 2018 manufacture date), FWC installed Overland Solar system. The 100/15 MPPT controller failed just as acmedave's but I am only on my second MPPT, likely because my camper sits in a covered garage...

What Brand is the 160 watt Solar Panel FWC Provides?

That is an excellent idea, thank you.

What Brand is the 160 watt Solar Panel FWC Provides?

I have a 2018 Hawk with the factory installed Yakima racks and 160W Overland Solar panel. I was going to get an additional 160W Overland Solar panel until I discovered that the way Yakima racks were mounted I could not fit the additional OS panel. All they needed to do was install the yakima...

CO / Propane alarm sounding - solutions?

Interesting about you voltage dropping with the master switch off. Mine 2018 Hawk does that as well. The BMV-712 shows a draw of 0.2A with the master switch off, and I have correctly calibrated it. The only things I thought taking current with the master switch off was the BMV and MPPT, and I...

I'm seeing a price of close to 800 USD for 4 Fastguns from etrailer. Is that about the right price for those?

Automatic charge controller or battery isolator voltage measurement

I will put a Blue Sea breaker on the starting battery. The breaker FWC has on there is a cheap 30A automatic breaker and I want a switchable breaker anyway. After reviewing the ACR's. I am starting to feel dumber than normal. I dont quite understand the difference between the BatteryLink...

    AGM Charging Profile Graph

Odd looking graph is exactly what I thought. I did call LEOCH this evening and they transferred me to an engineer in Shenzhen. The guy was very nice and his English was pretty good, way better than my Mandarin! In any case, he did confirm the 2.47v bulk/absorption rate and the 2.30v float...

    AGM Charging Profile Graph

I have a pair of 6V AGM batteries from Leoch and was a bit perplexed of the charging profile. I am assuming, and probably incorrectly, that bulk and absorption charge max is 2.47V per cell, and float charge of 2.30V per cell. I am not sure what the 2.58V number in the graph represents. It...

Automatic charge controller or battery isolator voltage measurement

I was thinking of simply pulling the fuse from the ACR ground on low sun angle or overcast days when I would need all PV going to the house battery. I would prefer that to installing a ML-ACR but seeing that might not be a good practice, what potential problems exist? Could it damage the ACR...

    Battery Monitors: Victron or Smartgauge?

I will search for that thread. I think I will get a 100/30 Victron, use it for the roof panel and then use the already installed 75/15 for the 100W portable panel. That way I could eventually add another similar 160W roof panel if needed. Thanks again for you help. Vince

    Battery Monitors: Victron or Smartgauge?

Thanks SoCal and Señor Harder. :D Everything you say makes perfect sense to me. I also will eventually go with LiFePo batteries when the 6V deep cycles will need replacing, so a Smartgauge in addition to a Victron probably would not be a smart purchase for me although it would be cool! Cost...

    Battery Monitors: Victron or Smartgauge?

Thanks for your guidance Vic, it is much appreciated. It took me a long time to get through those articles and there are even more that I am still reading through. He does have some cool testing gear. I was kind of leaning toward the Smartgauge since one of the most important bits of...

    Battery Monitors: Victron or Smartgauge?

Hello, newbie here with a stupid question. :D I have been following the "dislike my camper solar" thread for a while as well and I am trying to educate myself on battery monitors. I have been reading about the Balmar Smartgauge. It has no bluetooth, only displays SOC and voltage, and is...
