Has anyone added a 12volt socket to the exsiting one already in the camper. if so how or where did you hook it up.

Directly to the battery?
Tap into the original 12 volt socket in the camper?
hook into the main 12 volt switch and battery isolator?
should I add a fuse? if yes what size fuse.....thx

i am going to add one. my intention is to have it VERY close to the aux battery. My wife has one of those 12v hair dryers and they draw a lot of current, thus, there is a LOT of voltage drop. So i was going to add it under the seat or somewhere right next to the battery and keep the leads very short. I have some in-line fuse holders and will probably fit a 15amp fuse.

those dryers can be handy....for us....and the dog.

Installed a 12vt plug next to the co2 detector. Tapped into the wires for power. This puts the plug on the right side of the camper up next to the storage area. Thus not having to run cords across camper. Works well.
