My Wife, my 19 month old and I set out to northern Baja to break in the new camper Last week. I thought I would share a few words and photos describing our little adventure...OUr 2001 FWC Ranger is mounted on a '93 Toyota T-100 4x4..a trusty set up.

We spent six days exploring the area between Punta Baja and Punta San Carlos..The roads were good, the locals were friendly and the beer was ccccccold..and, we rode some great waves..

Cool roads...

The boy with the lobsters and with the soda is Pascaulito..His father Pascual was an old friend of mine.He never returned from fishing one day while Pascualito was still in the womb. We miss him dearly and try to spend as much time with Pascualito as we can while down there..

Tom, As usual great pix of one of the best destinations on this planet. I encourage all the FWC/ATC to see it soon it wont last much longer in its present state. It has changed dramatically over the past 40 years and not for the better. But it still is wonderful and stress free.

Second that, chnlisle. T^2, great report. We'll put Baja on the itinerary for the winter.

Thomas,
Great photos and nice write up. Your rig looks great in the Baja !!! I look forward to a trip down south in the near future.

Nice pics; SWIMPAL and I are taking our new rig and heading south for at least 3 weeks in a month or so. She has never driven the entire length of Baja so we may be going as far south as the East Cape and Todos Santos but by her firm request we will avoid Cabo completely. :D
Odale!

Great photos Tomas.

I need to get my butt to Baja someday. I want to drive my truck down to the beach and sleep with the sounds of waves crashing nearby. Maybe over New Years.....

Love the blacked out grill and bumper on your T100. They really accent the fender flares. With the longbed, it seems like the FWC is the perfect compliment to the truck.

Thanks for the southern temptation!

KC, dont forget to go to San Ignacio Lagun in Jan and Feb. You are lulled to sleep by the songs of gray whales at night. And its a perfect FWC/ATC site.

Tomas,

What's the road like out to the lagoon? I go down to Playa Coyote every winter and San Ignacio is a standard overnight stop but I've never been out to the lagoon. Have you ever gone south out of there to Ciudad Constitution?

With all the Baja talk on this site maybe we could plan a south of the border FWC meeting some time. The first round of cervezas is on me.

The road out to the lagoon is notoriously one of the worst "maintained" roads in Baja..the deepest washboard you will find..but, if you go during whale season, and are lucky enough to get close to a grey whale and her calf, it's more than worth it. Alot more!

South of the border gathering sounds good.
Have only been through constitution, never stayed. The road south from the lagoon to constitution can be very challenging...its out there.

Dick,
I like to call the 30 miles from town out to the lagoon "world class washboard". And after any rain its a challenge to find the road. But every time I get out there there's always a mexican family in a '64 ford wagon that made the trip without much trouble. So it's rough but very do-able.

We love Playa Coyote, Coco's and Santispac.
