I went up to Antelope Lake with no spare. Crossed my fingers I'd be okay. I was. Monday I head over the tire shop and get new tires. Guy shows me how thin my pads were. Today I put new pads on the front. Not much left on the drivers side. Passenger side had actually started to go metal on metal :(
Never made any noise. Only two months ago I had my tires rotated. They never mentioned a thing then. Moral is check em yourself.

It is alot cheaper to check and replace your brake pads, than to have to change your rotors too.

Years ago I drive over to Roseville with a friend in his car. Once we got over there, we heard a loud grinding noise from one of the front brakes.

His brake pads we so worn out that the actual brake pad that is mounted to the steel plate had gotten so low & worn out that it cracked and fell off. All he had on one side of the rotor was the steel backing plate grinding on the rotor as he applied his brakes.

We did a full brake job in the garage when we got home.
