Do you travel with mechanical jacks on or off?

I've seen in a number of pictures where people are leaving the two rear jacks on. I'm assuming that's for when the truck is parked and helps with weight distribution or support?? Otherwise why only have two attached?

I used to travel with two, behind the seat in the truck and then when camped I would attach them at the front of the camper, lower them, and put just a little pressure on them, to stabilize the camper from rocking around.

Eventually I got better rear leaf springs on the truck, to carry the camper better, and I don't need the jacks anymore when we're camped. There is no wiggle of the camper when we're inside.

After almost 10 years of WTWing (jacks on) for that perfect place to dump my pop up and hide from the world , I will continue my quest alone and in the minority with my jacks proudly-yet foolishly still on ! Besides where else will I carry my water bags and lean my fishing rod when I camp !
