Draining water tank ?

Hawk.so standing behind camper i turn lever all the to the passenger side water comes out. I turn lever to straight back at me water stops. Great. Then I turn it all the way to driverside thinking water should drain but it doesn't. So whats the proper placement for lever t0 be in when driving so water does not drain?

My rear drain valve is a ball valve that is fully open to the right (passenger side) and fully closed to the left (driver side.) it closes quickly as you turn it - so straight back is mostly closed.

On our a Fleet it’s open facing back, close facing forward.
