I've been wondering if my leak is via the overhead vent. Years ago I purchased the maxxair fan on a black friday special and just let it sit. Recently I decided it was time to replace the screen on my existing fan. During that project the ring that holds the screen just disintegrated on me. Time to install the new fan. I got the old fantastic fan removed and while I was up there I noticed a hole in my roof. Where one of the bars go across that I used to mount the solar panels one the bolts extended beyond the nut about 1/16". Thats also just about where I push on the top to raise it. I think its more likely I pushed the roof into the bolt rather than it happening externally. Its going to be an easy fix at least.

Also years ago I purchased the butyl tape for this project. I found the 4" but the 1" has disappeared :( On the good side, Amazon will deliver me some by 10pm :)

The best persistent problems are those with an easy fix. Congratulations!

Its not a Maxxair its Shurflo. Should have saved the box. I'm getting too old to climb on top of my camper but its in, screwed down. Still waiting on the lap sealant and unfortunately my Tropicool has turned into a big lump of white stuff. One more thing to order. Interestingly the Shurflo doesn't shut off when you close the lid. I used the inside cover whatever you call it from the original fan since it was cut down already but the fit wasn't perfect. I'll probably try and cut the Shurflo one down. Not exactly sure what is the best method for cutting somewhat brittle plastic.

Thanks but FEMA can use the tarp elsewhere :)

I'm missing a nut driver. Why can't our tools have rfid embedded in them so if we drive off with one on the roof, bumper etc, an alarm goes off.
