I'm looking for a fuse box and relay recommendation with 8 to 10 slots for my dodge ram to clean up all the aux lighting, air compressor and CB powering. I already have a switch panel installed in the dash so i want an option that can plug into that. I took a look at SPods but you have to use their switch panel. Any ideas??? Blue Sea was only the fuse box with no relay.

Where are you mounting it? In the cab or under the hood? I used BlueSea for my camper build, but that would not be under-hood safe.

with an air compressor i was thinking i'll need a relay as well but i've heard good things about blue sea

Don't know why Blue Sea can't be used in an engine bay as I would presume that they're used in the engine spaces of boats.

I have a couple of these going in two different vehicles because it can take both fuses and relays: https://www.delcity.net/store/ISO-280-Combo-Panel-!-Individual-Inputs/p_803803.h_803804
I do wish that they were the "sugar cube" relays and ATO/ATC fuses instead of the mini's, but......
I was thinking they might not be rated for oils/gas that under the hood exposure gets. I like what Hodakaguy did on his Taco build... post #93 http://www.wanderthewest.com/forum/topic/15771-hodakaguys-overland-tacoma-builds-fwc-combo/page-10#entry192702
Which does look a lot like the BlueSea type of fuse panel.

I have a bluesea fuse panel in my Jeep under the hood. Never had any issues with it there.

Depending on the watts the air compressor pulls even a sugar cube relay may not have enough ampacity. I used a gigavac contactor when doing a permanent install of a Puma 3/4 HP electric OBA compressor under our 4rnnr.

I was researching the components needed to build a fuse relay box and I came across a product that is already assembled.

I bought the Waterproof Fuse Relay Box assembly and installed it in my 1993 Dodge W250. I then installed rocker switches in the dash to control lights, winch, etc.

There are 5 fused relay circuits and 5 non-relay fused circuits (the non-relay circuits are for things like USB outlets and LED lights that don't draw a lot of current. With the standard length pigtails it cost $129 plus shipping.

I think it is well built and I am quite happy with it. He does offer some options on pigtail lengths for extra cost. He also offers a version having 10 fused relay circuits, and 10 non-relay fused circuits.

I brought the wires in through the firewall grommets. If I did it over again I would order a longer pigtail of at least 12". Better to have to cut some wire off the length of the pigtail than need to spice wire on.
