Gasket material used by FWC

Hey folks,

What does FWC use to make those foam/gel gaskets around the exterior fittings? I had to remove my locking SS water fill as the lock was broken. The gasket material seems to be made from a foam/gel that I cannot identify. Any idea?

I don't know the material, but FWC will answer questions like this if you call them.

It may be butyl tape.

When you apply it, have the joint or overlap at the bottom so water doesn’t have a potential path into the camper.

Understood. In this case, I think that I just need to wrap the flange of the fitting in the tape and screw it down. This is for a stainless fresh water fill on the outside of the camper.
