I've been thinking about ways to have some outside storage on the rear wall of a 2016 Grandby. Has anyone done this? My thought is similar to what the OEV pop-ups have, maybe not as large as they use but a small molle rack to right of the door, instead of just brackets off of the jack mounts.

Great idea.

Your post reminds me how much a mystery it is to upgrade my 2021 Grandby.

I think it’s FWC’s great “Achilles' Heal” - lack of straight up 3rd party FWC compatible upgrades and step-by-step instructions on “how to” do anything with these campers.

I’ve been staring at a brand new Quick Pitch En-suite shower enclosure because I’m scared to death where to drill.

Travel18,

I have been having a cargo bed modified to have fold down sides (like tailgates on each side of the bed) to access storage compartments that have been created on each side of both wheel wells.

I made Molle racks out of 1-1/2 x 1-1/2, 48" x 120" x 0.135" mesh which I cut to fit. Then I had them powder coated.

They are plenty sturdy but not mounted yet. Unfortunately, this project has dragged on for over 3 years - the body guy I am using, uses the cargo bed job as fill in work and he keeps pushing it aside. It is almost done however.

I plan to mount the racks to L track (aka airline track) using appropriate L-track hardware. The L-track will be attached to the back wall of the storage compartments.

Airline tracks, very fleksible.

there is a company that makes side camper mounts, that attach to the camper jack brkts. their brkts are not to much $, and can accodate 80 20. cant find company name at the moment, but i thought they had a nice design.

Screws in every hole but not all hit framing. I linned it up and it just so happened that the outside hit framing and a couple of thr middle. The rest are decorative. Been on for years and carries my "trasharoo ", no issues.
