Harbor Freight Inverter

I picked up a 400 W Harbor Freight inverter last week and I have a couple questions.

Are there any issues with using it with AGM batteries, or for that matter lithium batteries? I have AGM batteries currently, but will likely switch to lithium when these need to be replaced.

Can I connect directly to the batteries or do I need to connect at some other point (maybe after the solar controller)?

Thanks!

My Victron solar controller didn't like working with a small inverter and would shut off the load output.

Connect the inverter directly to the battery with the proper fuse size. 400 watts isn't a giant load. There are many resources to help you decide what gauge wire and fuse you should use.

Inverter doesn't care what type of battery it is connected to. But, connected directly to the battery it will not have a low voltage cut off.
