How Long Do You Keep Your Vehicles?

I had to do some research for this one! Most of them were long ago and didn't stick around long. I sold 5 of them in 1974 to go back to college.

1963 Fiat 600 - 77 to 79 (never ran)
1968 Toyota Corolla - 79 to 86
1978 Toyota Pickup - 81 to 87
1986 Honda Accord - 86 to 04
1987 Ford F-150 - 87 to 98
1983 VW Westfalia - 97 to 2000
1998 Ford F-250 - 98 to 07
1987 VW Westfalia Syncro - 00 to 14
2006 Honda Fit - 06 to present
2001 Audi TT - 07 to 10
2010 VW Jetta TDI Sportwagen - 10 to 15
2015 Toyota Tacoma - 15 to present

Almost all the cars in the first half of this list were purchased in various stages of disrepair and nursed back to something resembling health.
The 1961 Mini Cooper was the first car that I paid more than $150 for.
The 1978 Toyota Pickup was the first car that I paid over $1,000 for.
I guess if I still owned them all I could start a used car lot.

• I've had my 2000 Ford F250, my camper-carrying camping rig, for about 15 years. I plan/hope to keep it as long as possible (meaning "as long as it seems trustworthy") since it fits the camper and a new truck is so expensive. For most of the past 10 years I've used the truck only to carry the camper camping, so it doesn't get the use of a "daily driver".
• Earlier this year I traded in my 2005 Honda Civic, so that's about 10 years.
• Before the Ford and the Honda I had a 1992 Toyota pickup that met an early death (in 2000) when someone turned in front of me (their fault), we crashed, and both vehicles were totaled.
• My current daily driver -- and current cross-country touring vehicle -- is a 2015 Hyundai Accent.

It matters little to me what a vehicle looks like, so i can keep them well into the worn-looking stage of life. I'll replace a vehicle when it becomes less functional or when something new is a lot more functional in a way that I care about.

Bought my 2001 F-150 in 2003 with 17K used and traded it in in 2014 with 350,000K for a 2013 F-250 from Carmax with 12K, had the 150 for 101/2 years. Wife's 2003 Ford Focus traded on 2014 for a Ford Escape - 11 years. I used the F150 for work
