Not sure how I found these guys online but they built my steps to order and had it sent out within a few days. I got the model S-55DP for five steps, double bars and top step platform. This thing is VERY sturdy and came with quick release style mounting bar. I'm in the process of deciding how to mount the bar... here I'm holding it up to the truck...

I built this with some small angle iron and plan to use 2 inch lag bolts underneath the lip of the camper into the two pieces of plywood.

So, my question for the FWC collective here is, can I put 2 inch lag bolts straight up in this location without hitting anything vital? Wires? From what I can tell, it looks like all I would hit is two pieces of plywood and a little of the aluminum frame around the door?

Did I say these steps are awesome... !

Nice! i had steel ones like that, way too heavy. Nothing vital down there.... lag away!

I did much the same thing on my first slide-in Hawk. But I mounted the stairs permanently, attached stainless steel cables with loops and carabiners on the feet and held them up to stainless steel eyebolts through bolted with fender washer backing to the door frame. (Wish I could figure out how to post photos here...)

Good idea and certainly much more convenient than struggling to line up Clevis pin holes and risking fingers pinched., while holding up the weight of my Torklift steps in awkward position. But I wonder how stable it is when you put all your weight on one side of the step. Maybe couple more of the U hooks in the middle instead of just one on each side? After progressively reinstalling bigger and more lag screws into the plywood below the door sill, I finally had to mount the attachment bar into the truck bed rear end. Much more better than wearing out the thin plywood on the camper.

These came standard wit our Hallmark camper and love them.
I believe the are just lag bolted to the floor.

One note though on a particularly dewy morning my wife had a nasty slip down the stairs. I bought some grip tape like this:
https://www.amazon.com/Tape-King-Anti-Slip-Traction/dp/B01M63K167/ref=sr_1_2_sspa?crid=112EH8XMWX1TY&keywords=stair+grip+tape&qid=1568139282&s=gateway&sprefix=Stair+grip%2Caps%2C283&sr=8-2-spons&psc=1&spLa=ZW5jcnlwdGVkUXVhbGlmaWVyPUFVSkZPTU8wQ1dFQU8mZW5jcnlwdGVkSWQ9QTA4Mjc2NzJMOFJPUzFGQUJVSDMmZW5jcnlwdGVkQWRJZD1BMDUyNzE5OTE1V0hJRU9DREdKTzcmd2lkZ2V0TmFtZT1zcF9hdGYmYWN0aW9uPWNsaWNrUmVkaXJlY3QmZG9Ob3RMb2dDbGljaz10cnVl

And installed it on the leading edge of the steps. Works great!
