I understand the cost of living in Trona is very reasonable.
Is there Walmart Supercenter?
Here is a ranking of total tax burden by state. Depends on your personal circumstances as well. Certainly living out of town saves on property tax, I have a few acres bordering federal land and pay a whopping $700 per year
