New guy with a 1978 Alaskan 8ft NCO in SC

Nice job on the rebuild. I hope you get the same joy using this as you obviously did rebulding it.

Thanks guys. I got it on the truck. Before I did, I added 1x4 pt slats to the bottom to raise it up a little and I added turnbuckles to the lower front sides of the camper to secure it into the bed.

I'm still not sure if I'm going to replace the outer rear running lights or put some hooks there.
We're campable though.

I had some left over almond rustoleum from previous projects and I liked breaking up the all-white without being too loud. I painted the upper half of the lower box sides almond too, so that the color shows through the windows when the camper top is down in traveling mode. I put the paint on with a roller - rustoleum thinned 10% with mineral spirits - 2 coats.

It looks like it just rolled out of the factory. You do beautiful work. Like ripperj, I too like the cream trim; it shows restraint. I also really enjoyed your blog.

We took our Alaskan to a Tin Can Tourist rally at Tybee Island Ga this past weekend and got judged first place in the 1970 and newer category. It was the only truck camper there among 70 vintage trailers and it got a lot of attention.
