Doff is not wrong for everyone. I went from a Full sized Ford to a tacoma. And I could not get to a lake I like to camp at or my favorite fishing hole with the Ford because of the turning radius and I can with the Tacoma. The Ford also did not fit across my garage with camper and car and the Tacoma could. I do not know about cost as I never shopped for a Tundra but certainly know I can access areas with my Tacoma that a Tundra can not, not because of width, but because they require a tighter turning radius.
