Pump is skirting oil

Heading out early tomorrow morning, as I was finishing up getting my 72 10' NCO cleaned up I added hydraulic oil as it was low. When I lowered the camper, oil started spurting out from the cap on top of the pump. This is the silver cap that you unscrew to add oil into the pump. I know the cap is on tight, so do you of you have any idea what's causing this? Thanks for any help.

Joe, my uninformed opinion is that you overfilled it, and the oil returning from the cylinders caused the leak. It’s worth a call to Alaskan.

Yep, only supposed to fill it when the top is down.

Sorry for the late response, but you all are correct, I had overfilled the pump. I filled it to the top like I had always done before with the camper down so this was the first time it had done this. Anyway, it's working fine now. I appreciate all the help!
