I have all new metal coming for the exterior of my soon to be 8' with north/south sleeping ( 14' overall length)
It appears that the original roof is cut 3/4" over on both front and back ends, then I assume it's hammered down against the walls, using a block of wood??
Anyone done this? Did you have problems with kinks or splits? Care to share tips?

Yes, under the gutter. You can see the overlap here. The roof is actually cut off in this picture, but the nailed overlap is in the picture

I order the metal from Hemet Rv in California. I took all the old metal off. Most of the lower section was nice, but I needed a new roof because of the cab over extension, and I wanted everything to match. It would have been much simpler to build from scratch
. Oh well, I learned a lot.

yep...under gutter.....lose the linseed oil putty and go with large butyl glazing bead...comes in rolls...about 10.00/roll

cut long and bend over....neatly with darts cut out to allow for the curvature

how's the frame underneath?

Risque......good one Jr.....how'd you get the circumflex on the e?
