Just got back from a awesome 12k mile motorcycle ride to Alaska with Dad following in the truck. We were blessed to only see rain 5 of 30 days and have no major problems, accidents, or illness. Camper was fantastic, it let us stay in some very cool places and have lunch wherever we found ourselves. Here's a few pics. (They will enlarge when clicked)

Wow, what a great trip, combing the two full time travel methods and picking a fabulous loop. It's going to be tough to match this trip with out doing it again ! Thanks for posting.

Awesome photos! We did a trip just like this using a tent. Boy do I wish we had had our 4-Wheel Eagle at that time. Chris

Yep, not sure it can be topped. I am sorting out a 2017 two week off-road loop combining the ID, WA, and OR BDRs while adding the Lost Coast and NW corner of NV... :)

Thanks! We were blessed to have three full-frame Sony cameras between us. The hard part was finding the compromise between stopping for pics and getting home on schedule. It's a target rich environment up there.

I was originally going to do this trip solo w/ the Husky behind the Wing and camp. When Dad (73) decided to go we knew camping would be tough. Picking up this camper last Feb made it doable and really reduced the "effort" of traveling. Being able to camp at whatever phenomenal location you find yourself is the icing on the cake.

Saw a Leesurelite tent trailer towed by a Honda touring bike in Kootenai NP this summer. They had been coast to coast in Canada & thru many states with it. Took only a few seconds to erect the tent. Just picked up tongue & pushed trailer into position in campsite

K6ON: I have camped in that very spot on Monitor Pass many times. Great to camp under the Aspens. Thanks for sharing fall colors!

Dynobob,

What is the trip planning app that you are using?

Thanks

Garmin Mapsource. I really like the older GPSMAP 478 units and that's the software they came with back in the day. They'll work with the newer Basecamp but I can't warm up to it.

I'll end up cleaning up and joining the tracks I want to use for the trip. I still need to figure out a route from the bottom of the ORBDR over to the Lost Coast...

PaulT, Friends of ours pull one of those with their Wing and love it. They've been everywhere. I think theirs is a good bit bigger than that one even and has a pretty sophisticated electric brake system. Wouldn't offer much protection from a bear though - that was a selling point for the FWC :)

A couple of shots (both of these fone fotos from my Galaxy S6) from my spot on the southeast side of Mono Lake, the past 2 days:

A real nice "Sierra wave" going last night.

Sure is a nice photo Mark-wish I was there! But alas, still have things to do here, so enjoy your run to the Whites and you better find a nice place to park there soon because we got a good storm sized heading in on Thursday!

Nice photos, Mark! I think you're camped where I got stuck about 1984 in my yellow, 2WD Toyota Hi-Lux pickup.
