Hellooooo WTWers!

Several new areas have been added to our website! These areas are all in the wonderful state of Colorado!

Pikes Peak / Cripple Creek Area
Arkansas Valley and Surrounding Area
Northern Colorado / Steamboat Springs

After adding these areas, I was thinking that maybe I needed to tackle some 14ers! The terrain looks so amazing! Here's the Mount Harvard Trail area from the Arkansas Valley and Surrounding Areas, which is my photo pic of the week:

Almost just as good, but a few feet short, I hiked South Sister the other weekend, Oregon's 3rd tallest peak, just over 10,000 feet and a 5,000 ft elevation gain. The views were breathtaking!

Hope you all had a fabulous weekend!

Tiffany, congrats on making the summit of the South Sister. That is such a great looking mountain and there's two more sisters to the north! Good job and great summit photo!

Thanks! I think I need some gear for the next two :) An ice ax and crampons have been suggested for Middle Sister!

Middle Sister is really just a hike. Not as much of a trail as on South, but not technical.
Although...it's been years -- decades, really -- since I climbed it...and maybe it's because I did it the same day as North that it seemed like just a hike. I'm getting old. :(
North Sister is more than a hike. A steep snow-slope to traverse (a lot of people rope up to cross, as well as ice ax and crampons), then some rock-scrambling at the top.

Great shot of the Central Cascades, T-Dawg! I think we can just see Mt Hood way off in the distance, Mt Jefferson (just above the North), and then lower, pointy and snowless Mt Washington between the Middle and the North.

When I was on top of the South, it was during a cloudcap white-out and there was no view :(

No view for you, Stew? That is a major bummer! I would have been disappointed if I had worked that hard to get to the top to see... whiteness! :)

You can see what the South was like when I was last there.
