A fantastic weekend indeed. the best company, campsite, colors, and weather you could ask for. Funny how many of our photos are very similar. Except I don't seem to have too many of those first morning light ones. I wonder why that is? Anyway, here are a few of ours.

The sunset while we were waiting for Ski3pin, the Lady, and the barking Spiders.

One of the many lakes on the trail above Virginia Lakes.

Not as good as Lighthawk's bird photos, but Mrs. Magellan got a shot of this Virginia Lakes resident.

A few more shots of the colors. There was still a fair amount of green on the trees. So the show should still be great if you can get there this weekend.

Glad to have help on the campsite and glad you located it Ted with only VERBAL directions. (special camp for us)

Really enjoyed the story and the pictures, Thank you! I was by there the weekend before and most was green. What a difference a week makes. We could not go down to enjoy the show but my gal is there now and I hope lots of color is still around.

Excellent, ski3pin and Ted!
I've been over here in the eastern Sierra for several days now...and it is pretty damn gorgeous!
I burned out my yellow and orange receptors in upper Summer Meadows Tuesday morning.

Another great set of photos! The Fall colors are a real treat after having spent time in the Black Rock (not too many trees there).
Fall is my favorite time of the year for getting out and exploring!

Does anyone happen to have a GPX file that shows where you went?
I love this area and did two trips up there this summer but didn't recognize any of the pictures.
Very nice photos.

Jeff, thanks for the kind comments about the photos, it's appreciated. No GPX files. We navigate the old fashion way. Locations are included in the trip report. We do carry along our handheld Garmin unit because it has a great easy to use alarm clock function.
