Survival Blog - 70 Days in SE Alaska

Thanks Steve. That's quite a blog.
I know what he meant with all the rain.
In 09 we went out to Prince of Wales Island for a couple
nights and rain/rain almost all the time.Huge Muskeg wetlands.
Everywhere moss and more moss.
Great looking fish also.

Will have to check it out, always interesting to see how true remote living is.

Ever watch the film about Dick Proenneke, http://aloneinthewilderness.com/index.html

Actually he filmed it himself as he built his cabin and lived in the wilds of Alaska by himself. Pretty incredible guy, lived there till he was 82.

+1 on this film. Have seen it a couple of times on KOPB TV. Very interesting to see what he did to provide shelter, food, etc. The extra work to do all the filming given his situation must have been quite a challenge.

I bought the tapes, watch it about once a year? Quite a DIY guy!

Read the book by Proenneke, One Man's Wilderness-some book, some man. Wish I-d of done that when I was 51(and had his know how)-when he started-great pictures, great story.
