After cleaning up after the Thanksgiving Feast, Lady Ski3pin and I decided to just take off. We had put so much work in the rebuild/remodel of the used Ranger II we bought in August, it was loaded on the truck and as anxious as we were for the maiden voyage.

We both awoke at 4 am Friday morning feeling like excited twelve year olds unable to sleep. "Let's have breakfast at the Hays Street Cafe in Bridgeport and ramble around the east side of the Sierra". Sunrise on Monitor Pass was as awesome as ever. It took us three feedings on the Hays Street cinnamon roll to finish it off. Friday afternoon found us in one of our favorite places, the Alabama Hills.

A cold beautiful evening with the approaching storm. This alone was worth all our efforts on our project.

The storm road in the early hours of Saturday morning. With rain and snow hitting the camper, and us parked full broadside to the wind, Lady Ski3pin asks on our first night sleeping in the camper, "Do you think this could blow the truck over?" Ah, but there is almost nothing better than a storm blowing through.

We headed back north and up into the volcanic tableland area north of Bishop. More wind and snow but a promise of clearing overnight. Here's a couple photos of our the remodel working in "real life".

Heading north and home. New snow and long stretches of icy road.

.......and how many other FWC & ATC were out on the road? We counted four. Friday morning in Bishop a FWC on a green Tundra in the Paiute Palace parking lot and an ATC heading north on 395 stopped at the Line Street light - we were walking at this time celebrating finding a Patagonia coat at the St. Theresa Thrift Store for $3 for Lady Ski3pin. Saturday morning there was an FWC heading south on 395 as we were coming out Moffat Ranch Road north of Lone Pine. Sunday afternoon we spotted an FWC in Gardnerville at the corner of Waterloo and 395.
