Haven't been out shooting much but that's about to change. Loading up the camper with Petey and the camera gear and headed north in a week or so. May make it all the way to Alaska, we'll see. In the meantime been shooting some backyard critters here in the southwest with my macro set-up.

Nice! I don’t see too many Horney Toads anymore. I heard fire ants have taken their toll. But man they are cool critters! Thanks

Here's a few photos out the front window yesterday morning. Julie said "her boys" were back. This refers to when blacktail bucks are going through the yard.

Eyes get big and the ears go back. You know what's coming.

I have a strange question.Has anyone seen wild turkeys 30+ feet in a tree.
This tom is one that hangs around our area.He doesn't seem to get with the
hens about 6 or so that hang around our house space.

He is more of a loaner.

Nice photography! Well captured!

Last Thursday, the deer stripped my my mountain ash of bark. I now refer to them as rats with antlers.
Yup, we had an aspen that was their favorite place to polish antlers. Yes, you should notice I said "had." And oh boy, they love to browse on peach and apple trees! The least they can do is provide us with some entertainment. :)

Yes, they generally roost at night high in trees to sleep away from danger.

This time of the year they are not nice to my yard plants. The bucks have the need to spar with trees and bushes causing damage. So, yea rats.
Picture of past tree.
