Just got a 2011 eagle, and have connected the camper to the trucks battery using the trolling motor plug. What's keeping the camper from draining the trucks battery? There is a battery charge gauge inside the camper that keeps tabs on the campers battery.
Also, the camper has a 175 watt solar panel with charge controller.
Need some piece of mind advice. Thanks

There should be a Surepower battery isolator in the camper. This prevents the camper from drawing off your truck battery when your camper battery voltage gets too low. I replaced mine with a Bluesea and now I can keep my truck batteries topped off with solar when the truck sits for a period of time. Have fun with your camper.

Welcome to the cult. You will find a lot of useful info on this site.

In 2011 the Surepower battery separator that came with my 2009 ATC Bobcat was recalled.
Marty at ATC replaced it with a battery "isolator".
Works great and keeps the truck battery charged through the solar when sitting idol.

The Surepower was recalled due to over heating problem in some models.

Really appreciate the valuable info.
The battery isolator/separator will allow me to sleep in those wayward baja beaches.
Thanks again, kurt.
