Tundra to Dodge Diesel upgrade

Greetings

I decided to get a heftier truck so I could have my camper and tow my Jeep. The 2005 Dodge Ram has averaged 17.6 mpg going to work with the camper on. I test towed the Jeep and got 15 to 16 mpg which included some long grades. My Tundra only averages 12 on trips with just the camper (sometimes less).

You'll come to love the Diesel. You can cram all sorts of weight into the camper and not tell much of a difference.

That is a nice combination you have. I have been looking at moving up from my '77 Chevy C10 to a Dodge 2500 diesel to haul my Grandby around. A big upgrade for me for sure. A good buddy of mine has a 1998.5 with ext cab and 8' box and 100K miles that I'm seriously looking at and will probably get it before the end of the year. He said he gets about 22 mpg unloaded with it.
