I recently installed the Bluetooth 500a Smartshunt and a 12v fridge. I appreciate seeing the energy consumption and am very happier with the efficiency of the fridge.

Today my observation on the History screen the max voltage reading today was 16.59v. I checked on the trend graph to see when and for how long. It spiked for only a few moments and then went back down to normal charging voltage.

Any thoughts?
Thanks.

keep an eye on it and have another adult beverage

Thanks, I needed to hear that… and now I have the fridge to keep said beverages cold! When it is sunny, the fridge can’t outrun the charging, and when overcast I am down 3% overnight. Phenomenal.

There's probably an auto-equalization setting in your MPPT. It'll jack the voltage way up to equalize the cells in lead batteries. You can turn it off in settings.

Thanks. My controller is a Morningstar Sunsaver Duo and isn’t a MPPT. I have notice this spike happening usually when it has been cloudy, overcast and then it gets sunny fairly quickly and the spike does not last long. Thanks for reaching out with advice. Much appreciated.
