Wandering from Tennesse to Alaska 2023

I then went to Lead, SD.

I learned there is the Sanford Underground Research Facility, they use the former Homestake gold mine (1868 to 2001).
They have a very nice visitor center in Lead.

This is where Raymond Davis installed a neutrino detector in the early 1960's, He won a Nobel prize in physics for his work.

The surface portion is 1/2 mile across and 1200' deep, the underground portion goes to 8000'

That's quit an adventure. Thanks for sharing it with all of us.

I remember spending a night in Wall. We were headed east to Pa
and that was just a convenient place to spend the night.

Also visited the Badlands ,drove through and stopped a few places to take a walk.

Where to next?

The truck had no issues
On the camper one Maxxair vent shattered the gear box so I ziptied it closed.

I did learn after one rainstorm that if the wind is coming from the rear the open vent will leak. From the front it’s ok to leave them open
