Thought this would be a good subject for birders and nonbirders. I Built and installed this measure two years now and has been very effective. The system requires the following materials: 50-80 lb braided fishing line, open end lag hooks, small ss springs, and silver plastic hobby discs with preformed holes. We have several feeders, none near the window and lots of birds. Before the measure we would get several strikes and some fatalities. Now strikes are rare and Fatalities almost none. The disks reflect sunlight and the wind moves the disks. We thought it would be really distracting from our view but, we got use to it quickly. We still get the view with a much friendlier window for the birds. Also on high wind days the discs will not damage glass from contact. Glad to report Eastern Bluebirds are here scouting condos.
