    160 Watt 12V Monocrystalline Solar Panel $115

Reality is the .1 reading on my Trimetric is probably less than ,1. I think the Trimetric senses any loss and rounds up to .1. Different batteries drop at different rates when not being charged. AGM's tend to maybe lose a little more than my Sealed Lead Acid true deep cycle. The manufacturer...

    Speaker stand.

I have now used my stand lifter a couple of times. 1st time I was surprised how hard my drill was working to get it up. I thought maybe the battery was low. So last time I used a fresh battery. it was a little better but still working hard. Not the biggest drill I own but not a wimp either. But...

    Flexible Solar on polycarbonate sheet

This is great to hear. I was looking for panels about the same time that folks started having problems with the Renology flex panels. So I ended up buying a conventional Solar Cynergy glass 160 watt panel. It works great but I'd love to get rid of some of that weight. I had been thinking of...

    160 Watt 12V Monocrystalline Solar Panel $115

Everything sounds normal. Simple fact is the Trimetric is more precise than most AC smart chargers! Especially when set up for a specific battery. I've been very tempted to buy a 2nd Trimetric and sc2030. And them make a portable charger for my folding 120 watt suitcase panels. Then use that to...

Fold down step sheared in half: VERY dangerous

Sharx they are not pot metal, What most people refer to as pot metal is these days a branded alloy zinc casting. Zinc doesn't rust. It's not often used for weight bearing structures. The steps are the same metal through out.

FWC Warranty - corrosion, service and propane

I doubt it's common on these campers. I haven't heard of anyone complaining about it before. When I saw the pic of the aluminum on your camper just dissolving I was convinced. Electrolysis is the only thing I know that would do that other than exposure to an acid or such. The good news is...

    Tundra spring expansion packs?

I'm not a fan of conventional Add-A Leaves. They typically add a lot of stress to the wrong spots of a spring pack. At best bad ride. At worst broken springs. I have a 2006 Tundra double cab 4x4. Last of the 1st gens. Currently have air bags and rear sway bar. They get the job done but I prefer...

FWC Warranty - corrosion, service and propane

The corrosion is electrolysis. You've got an electrical issue somewhere. My 1st check would be to remove the forward lifting board. Underneath is the box where the solar roof stuff goes through. Inside this is a little ground bar plate. Mine was loose. This could be the problem. Check for loose...

Good Article on the Necessity of a Fridge

Prices have really come down. Watching specials and seeking quality functional products without spending extra on not really needed technology can save a bundle. !60 watts and a good group 31 battery will cover most folks fridges and furnace use with a proper charge controller and monitor...

I need to hear a good new joke

When a customer left his cell phone in my store, I scrolled through his saved numbers, stopped at 'Mom' and pushed send. His mother answered, and I told her what happened. 'Don't worry,' she said, 'I'll take care of it.' A few minutes later, the cell phone rang. It was 'Mom.' 'Martin,' she said...

    Speaker stand.

Thanks Bill. I figure a good fitting crutch tip on the bottom will take up any needed slack. I understand on over extending. I will cut a couple of small boards with a hole saw to make sockets. I'm actually thinking of making longer lift boards to better support the weight on top when lifting...

    furnace or other?

I have a shell with the stove, furnace combo and a couch.Perfect! I've rarely run it all night. but a couple of cycles before bed and in the AM are simply luxurious to this old backpacker. For what it's worth my Atwood draws 2.5 amps when running. 1 amp of that appears to be the solenoid that...

    Speaker stand.

I have the interior gas struts in my Eagle. After I installed the roof rack I upgraded them from 60lb to 80 lb struts. It helps but it's still a heave to hoist the roof. And I haven't installed my road shower yet. That's 5 gallons of water to add up there. I've been thinking of adding outside...

    Cheap storage option.

I'm posting these pics because of a request from someone here. Easy way to store your camper off the truck. It's quite solid as well. No issues walking in the camper. I use 10 milk crates. 5 stacks of 2. 4 corners and center. They line up great with the skid strips on the bottom of my Eagle...

    anyone using the Cancooker?

We used the Can Cooker again last evening. Sprayed with Pam. Added cut up potatoes, Carrots then covered with Italian seasoning. Then added a layer of fresh green and yellow beans. Salt, pepper and garlic. Cooked Ham slice on top. About a quart of water. Close and put on the heat. Once...

Roof Lifting Device and Interior Mods

The site says they are in stock and ready to ship. Once you try to buy one it says backordered and will ship late Sept. I checked a local store and they have one in stock so I'm heading down in the am to buy it. Once again the arthritis in my shoulder is acting up. So I'll need it sooner than...

    Revisiting heavy duty trucks

The reason fleet trucks are down rated is drivers licensing. Commercial drivers over 10,000 need a CDL. We went through this at the phone company many years ago when they changed the laws. They had to burn the trailer hitches off of things like my cube van and re-register them under 10k. Or...

    When do you recharge?

Sure there is! It's called a Bogart Trimetric and SC2030 combo that's properly programed for the batteries you are using. Far more accurate than most gas gauges. My solar has no issues maintaining float charge. If the roof top panel needs occasional help I'll plug in my portable panel as well...

    Revisiting heavy duty trucks

it's all about GVWR for taxes. The problem is not finding someone who can do it. The problem is finding someone with big enough tools. When I put 1 ton axles under my Old Power Wagon I had to buy a lot of new tools from heavier jacks to bigger sockets!

    Revisiting heavy duty trucks

Happyjax, The additional fees are something to check into. Md would tax the air we breath if it could figure out a way. My 10,000 car hauler trailer costs a fortune to keep registered. More than double the price of a 7,000 lb'er.
